This study was performed to compare the performance of Sanita-Kun dry medium culture plate with those of traditional culture medium and Petrifilm dry medium culture plate for the enumeration of the mesophilic aerobic bacteria in milk, ice cream, ham, and codfish fillet. Mesophilic aerobic bacteria were comparatively evaluated in milk, ice cream, ham, and codfish fillet using Sanita-Kun aerobic ...

Objective: To observe synergistic antibacterial effect of Er yanning in vitro. Methods: The Er Yanning NO1 (the main component of rheum officinale), No2 (main component of Scutellaria baicalensis, phellodendron bark) and Er yanning NO1-NO2 compatibility antibacterial activity were detected against anaerobic bacteria and aerobic bacteria. Results: No 1 anaerobic obviously, No 2 on aerobic bacter...

Paenarthrobacter nicotinovorans Hce-1 is a Gram-positive obligate aerobe actinomycete. We report here the complete genome sequence of this organism. The genome has a length of 4,174,362 bp and contains 4,568 protein-coding genes, 64 tRNA operons, and 22 rRNA operons. Its GC content in the gene region is 63.4%.

Spores are formed when vegetative cells of sporing aerobes are shaken with distilled water at 37 degrees . These spores are derived from the small number of cells which survive lysis. The sporulation process involves increase and concentration of solid material in the cell, and is achieved at the expense of the products of lysis of 80 to 90 per cent of the resuspended cells.

It has been shown that spoilage of emulsion cutting oils is the result of the combined activities of two distinct types of microorganisms. The organisms involved were found to be anaerobic sulfate-reducing bacteria and a variety of heterotrophic aerobic bacteria the majority of which belong to the genus Pseudomonas. It was also shown that certain inorganic salts were essential for deterioration.

Molecular oxygen (O(2)) is the second most abundant gas in the Earth's atmosphere, but in many natural environments, its concentration is reduced to low or even undetectable levels. Although low-oxygen-adapted organisms define the ecology of low-oxygen environments, their capabilities are not fully known. These capabilities also provide a framework for reconstructing a critical period in the hi...

BACKGROUND Currently, to our knowledge, quality of output water of dental chair units is not covered by specific regulations in the European Union, and national recommendations are heterogeneous. In Germany, water used in dental chair units must follow drinking water quality. In the United States of America, testing for aerobic heterotrophic bacteria is recommended. The present study was perfor...

The aim of the present investigation was to evaluate the subgingival aerobic and anaerobic flora of 13 dogs with periodontal disease and the susceptibility of these bacteria to antibiotics currently approved in Italy for treatment of canine infections. Of the anaerobic bacteria, Bacteroides fragilis was most frequently isolated, followed by Peptostreptococcus + Porphyromonas gingivalis and Prev...
