A facile approach was developed to prepare multi-walled carbon nanotubes/graphene nanoplatelets hybrid materials through covalent bond formation. First, poly(acryloyl chloride) was grafted onto oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes through the reaction between the acyl chloride groups of poly and the hydroxyl groups of oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes. Second, the remaining acyl chloride...

Electrogenerated N-heterocyclic carbene can behave as an organocatalyst in the Staudinger reaction (from imine and acyl chloride) in a very polar solvent, such as an ionic liquid.

compound possessing the acyl group in the 3-position of DHA nucleus 〔triacetic acid lactone (TAL)〕, the derivatives having the aroyl instead of the acyl group in the 3-position have never been synthesized. In order to investigate the activity which the carbonyl group in their side chain displays for of various primary amines and their antibacterial activity, some new DHA type derivatives posses...

A new method has been designed to prepare the known benzoxazinone derivative 2-(N-phthaloylmethyl)-4H-3,1-benzoxazin-4-one (4). The acyl chloride derivative N-phthaloylglycine reacts with anthranilic acid in chloroform, in the presence of triethylamine, to give an intermediate that is then reacted with cyanuric chloride, used as a cyclization agent, to produce the benzoxazinone derivative.

The Friedel–Crafts acylation of 2-methoxynaphthalene was carried out in the liquid-phase batch conditions using Hmordenite, H-beta and H-Y zeolite as catalysts. All the catalysts showed 35–40% conversion in the temperature range of 100–150◦C. 1-Acyl-2-methoxynaphthalene was formed as the primary product. When acetyl chloride was used as the acylating agent, a higher yield of 6-acyl-2-methoxynap...

Copper-catalyzed ortho-benzoxylation of 2-arylpyridine sp(2) C-H bonds with acyl chloride is described. Notably, switching the base from t-BuOK to Li(2)CO(3) causes chlorination of the C-H bond to take place.

The title compound, C(15)H(14)O(2), was obtained by Friedel-Crafts acyl-ation between 2,5-dimethyl-phenol and benzoyl chloride in the presence of aluminium chloride as a catalyst. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 61.95 (4)°. In the crystal, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and C-H⋯O weak inter-actions lead to polymeric C(6), C(8) and C(11) chains along the a, b and c-axis directions, respe...

The NHC catalysed nucleophilic additions of enols to α,β-unsaturated acyl-azolium intermediates have been investigated using DFT methods at the MPWB1K/6-31G** computational level. In the direct and the conjugate additions, formation of a hydrogen bond (HB) with the carboxyl oxygen is not sufficient to favour the C-C bond formation as a consequence of the low nucleophilic character of enols. Int...
