An 8-year-old boy was admitted to the Ophthalmology Department due a vision impairment with an accompanying decrease in visual acuity and bilateral optic disc oedema. As result of interdisciplinary diagnostics, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, probably related preceding infection, diagnosed.

This report illustrates an adult patient presenting with tumefactive acute disseminated encephalomyelitis complicating human swine influenza. Its presentation, diagnosis, investigation findings, course, and response to treatment are discussed herein.
