We present observations of the most radio-luminous BAL quasar known, 1624+3758, at redshift z = 3.377. The quasar has several unusual properties: (1) The FeII UV191 1787-˚ A emission line is very prominent. (2) The BAL trough (BALnicity index 2990 kms −1) is detached by 21000 kms −1 and extends to velocity v =-29000 kms −1. There are additional intrinsic absorbers at-1900 and-2800 kms −1. (3) T...

We carry out high-resolution FUSE spectroscopy of the nuclear region of NGC 1068. The first set of spectra was obtained with a 30 square aperture that collects all emission from the narrow-line region. The data reveal a strong broad O VI component of FWHM ∼ 3500 kms and two narrow O VI λλ1031/1037 components of ∼ 350 kms. The C III λ977 and N III λ991 emission lines in this spectrum can be fitt...

There is reason to suspect that 4C 41.17, a radio galaxy at z = 3:800 0:003, contains a large quantity of enriched molecular gas. We describe a search for CO in 4C 41.17, taking advantage of the fact that the J = 1 ! 0 rotational transition is redshifted into the radio-frequency band centred at 23 GHz for 3:80 < z < 4:25. There is no sign of CO line emission in our resulting spectrum, which cov...

BACKGROUND Kasabach-Merritt syndrome (KMS) is a rare but life-threatening illness. The purpose of this study is to report our single-center experience with KMS. METHODS We reviewed the medical records of 13 patients who were diagnosed with KMS between 1997 and 2012 at Samsung Medical Center. Treatment response was defined as follows: 1) hematologic complete response (HCR) - platelet count >13...

Haemangioma is a common type of vascular tumour in paediatric age group [1]. Most of them are benign and non-life threatening [1]. Kasabach Merritt syndrome (KMS) is a combination of giant haemangioma, thrombocytopenia and consumptive coagulopathy [1-5]. It presents with diverse clinical presentation and may be a part of other recognized syndrome [1,2]. KMS is a well-recognized but rare clinica...

To settle the question of nature interstellar object 1I/’Oumuamua requires in-situ observations via a spacecraft, as is already out range existing telescopes. Most previous proposals for reaching using near-term technologies are based on Solar Oberth Manoeuvre (SOM), trajectories without SOM generally significantly inferior in terms lower mission duration and higher total velocity requirement. ...

Knowledge management systems (KMs) are used to discover, develop, exploit, disseminate, and share organizational knowledge. To achieve these goals, various types of approaches have been explored. Although many KMs issues have been studied, few papers explore performance measurement. To measure the performance of KMs is difficult because mental work may not be observable. The success of KMs is n...

Successful implementation of Knowledge Management System (KMS) has been observed in many organization, where they use the system with real interest and enthusiasm. Despite of the fact, some organizations has failed to implement the KM initiatives to achieve its adequate advantages due to the lack of pertinent information and shortage of measurement that is used in KMS. The obstacles that hurdle...

Though knowledge management (KM) and knowledge management systems (KMS) have been well established in organizations the question on how to evaluate the benefits to be gained from the use of such systems is still not finally resolved. Based on a complete case study showing how a KMS was introduced in a knowledge-intensive small enterprise in Germany this paper illustrates the operationalization ...
