Graphyne, a two-dimensional carbon allotrope like graphene but containingdoubly and triply bonded carbon atoms, has been proven to possess amazing electronic properties as graphene. Although the electronic, optical, and mechanical properties of graphyne and graphyne nanoribbons (NRs) have been previously studied, their electron transport behaviors have not been understood. Here we report a comp...

By adding nanotwins to Cu, the surface electromigration (EM) slows down. The atomic mobility of the surface step-edges is retarded by the triple points where a twin meets a free surface to form a zigzag-type surface. We observed that EM can alter the zigzag surface structure to optimize the reduction of EM, according to Le Chatelier's principle. Statistically, the optimal alternation is to chan...

In this paper, a CFD-based method coupling with overset grid technique is used to directly simulate the 20/20 zigzag maneuver of the fully appended ONR Tumblehome ship model. Numerical computations are carried out by our in-house CFD code naoe-FOAM-SJTU, which is developed on the open source platform OpenFOAM. The overset grid module is used to predict the ship motions with 20/20 zigzag maneuve...

The relationship between the GNS representations associated to states on a quasi *algebra, which are local modifications of each other (in a sense which we will discuss) is examined. The role of local modifications on the spatiality of the corresponding induced derivations describing the dynamics of a given quantum system with infinite degrees of freedom is discussed.

Herein, we report a facile strategy for the synthesis of dual-functionalized graphene hybrids (A-H-GNs) based on interactions among graphene, N-(aminobutyl)-N-(ethylisoluminol) (ABEI) and hemin. The multilayers of a chemiluminescence reagent (ABEI) and a catalyst (hemin) were accumulated on the graphene surface, resulting in high chemiluminescence performance, good solubility and stability in a...

Li3VO4 nanoparticles embedded in graphene nanosheets (Li3VO4@GNS) were obtained using a sol-gel method. The composite presents excellent high-rate performance with a stable capacity of 133 mA h g(-1) at 50 C and long-life performance with a capacity retention rate of 63.1% after 5000 cycles at 5 C.

a graphene nanosheets (gns) film coated glassy carbon electrode (gce) was fabricated for sensitive determination of tyrosine (tyr). the gns-based sensor was characterized by scanning electron microscope and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. the voltammetric techniques were employed to study electro-oxidation of tyr. the results revealed that the modified electrode showed an electrocatalyt...

We describe tunable optical sawtooth and zigzag lattices for ultracold atoms. Making use of the superlattice generated by commensurate wavelengths of light beams, tunable geometries including zigzag and sawtooth configurations can be realised. We provide an experimentally feasible method to fully control inter- (t) and intra- (t') unit-cell tunnelling in zigzag and sawtooth lattices. We analyse...

We study the dynamics of the one-dimensional complex Ginzburg Landau equation (CGLE) in the regime where holes and defects organize themselves into composite superstructures which we call zigzags. Extensive numerical simulations of the CGLE reveal a wide range of dynamical zigzag behavior which we summarize in a “phase diagram”. We have performed a numerical linear stability and bifurcation ana...

We study the transport properties of multiterminal graphene nanodevices using the Landauer-Buttiker approach and the tight binding model. We consider a four-terminal device made at the crossing of a zigzag and armchair nanoribbons and two types of T-junction devices. The transport properties of graphene multiterminal devices are highly sensitive to the details of the junction region. Thus the p...
