We conjecture that certain patterns (scars), theoretically and numerically predicted to be formed by electrons arranged on a sphere to minimize the repulsive Coulomb potential (the Thomson problem) and experimentally found in spherical crystals formed by self-assembled polystyrene beads (an instance of the generalized Thomson problem), could be relevant to extend the classic Caspar and Klug con...

In this note we solve a problem left open in [2]: namely, we show that the iterated superposition of a regular language is regular. The proof of this result is based on two facts: (i) the iterated superposition of a language equals the restricted iterated superposition of the same language, (ii) the sequence formed by iteratively applying the restricted superposition can be precisely defined. W...

A minute of silence. Kary Banks Mullis has died (08/07/2019). was an American Biochemist and Doctor Chemistry who developed the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) in 1985, considered one most important legacies history Humanity, along with description DNA (Watson, Crick Franklin) theory Relativity (Einstein). Currently, I consider anyone does not know PCR by to be illiterate, since it is a molecul...

Armakolas and Klar (Reports, 24 February 2006, p. 1146) suggested that segregation of mouse chromosome 7, after induction of a site-specific crossover between homologous chromosomes, is driven by a preferential inheritance of the old Watson and the old Crick DNA strands. However, this interpretation only considered half of the possible outcomes. The conjecture fails when all possible outcomes a...

kwashiorkor, sterility, blindness, anemia and abnormal child birth. In order to full-fill the basic needs; many scientists have made attempts to improve the nutritional value of food crops through genetical modification. Two Scientist, Watson and Crick discovered the double helix structure of DNA which is the basis for biological revolution. Other Scientist made the transgenic modification in p...

A novel porphyrin-fullerene dyad assembled through Watson-Crick hydrogen bonds is described; this system undergoes photoinduced electron transfer upon irradiation with visible light to produce a charge separated state that is substantially longer lived than that of previous dyads of this type.

A binding pocket consisting of two zinc porphyrins self assembled by Watson-Crick base pairing is presented. The porphyrin binding pocket is located in the confined environment of a lipid membrane whereas the DNA is located in the water phase. Bidentate electron accepting ligands are shown to coordinate in-between the two porphyrins.

2'(3')-O-L-Phenylalanylderivatives of fluorescent 1,N6-ethenoadenosine and 3,N4-ethenocytidine were prepared by chemical synthesis. Both compounds are good acceptor substrates in ribosomal peptidyltransferase reactions. Since these compounds cannot form Watson-Crick base pairs, the results indicate that the terminal aminoacyladenosine unit of AA-tRNA is bound to ribosomal protein on the accepto...
