We report the development of a novel experimental chamber for experiments in soft x-ray diffraction tomography, diffraction imaging of single biological objects, and magnetic speckle imaging. The chamber will allow for acquisition of nearly full three-dimensional diffraction data sets as well as high magnification zone plate images of holograms for the diffraction tomography experiment.

In this paper, we provide the mathematical basis for three different magnetoacoustic imaging approaches (vibration potential tomography, magneto-acoustic tomography with magnetic induction, and magneto-acoustic current imaging) and propose new algorithms for solving the inverse problem for each of them.

Primary cardiac angiosarcoma is an extremely rare malignant tumor with various clinical presentations but usually in late stage. We report a case presented with bloody pericardial effusion, in which the final diagnosis was confirmed by multiple imaging modalities such as echocardiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomogr...

Testicular tumours are an important group of tumours because the majority are curable. Imaging with computed tomography is pivotal to patient management but other techniques including magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound and plain films are also useful for staging and follow-up. Positron emission tomography with 18-fluoro-2deoxyglucose has a growing and unique role in the management of testic...

Image-guided tumor ablation provides curative treatment in properly selected patients or appropriate therapeutic options whenever surgical techniques are precluded. Tumor response assessment post ablation is important in determining treatment success and future therapy. Accurate interpretation of post-ablation imaging findings is crucial for therapeutic and follow-up strategies. Computed Tomogr...

OBJECTIVE To present a detailed explanation on the processing of magnetic susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI), demonstrating the effects of echo time and sensitive mask on the differentiation between calcification and hemosiderin. MATERIALS AND METHODS Computed tomography and magnetic resonance (magnitude and phase) images of six patients (age range 41- 54 years; four men) were retrospectiv...

As part of their initial workup, patients typically undergo videoelectroencephalography (video-EEG), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain, and neuropsychological testing [3]. Depending on how well these tests localize the epileptic foci, additional studies might be indicated, such as positron emission tomography (PET), magnetoencephalography (MEG), and single photon-emission computed t...

BACKGROUND Spontaneous carotid artery dissections have been rarely reported in children. Diagnosis has traditionally been confirmed by catheter arteriography. More recently diagnosis has been made by magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance angiography; however the sensitivity of these techniques has yet to be determined. The authors are unaware of reports of carotid dissection confirm...

With the steep increase in the use of cross-sectional imaging in recent years, the incidentally detected adrenal lesion, or "incidentaloma", has become an increasingly common diagnostic problem for the radiologist, and a need for an approach to classifying these lesions as benign, malignant or indeterminate with imaging has spurred an explosion of research. While most incidentalomas represent b...

OBJECTIVE The Royal College of Physicians and National Institute of Clinical Excellence have recommended that magnetic resonance imaging should be the modality of choice for cerebral imaging in transient ischemic attack patients. However, implementation of this is often difficult. Therefore, it is important to know whether magnetic resonance imaging contributes significantly to early clinical m...
