We adopt a t 1 − t 2 − t 3 − J − G model for explanation of x = 1/8 anomaly in La 2−x Sr x CuO 4 family compound. The calculated charge susceptibility shows a maximum near (π, π) at intermediate temperatures and near (π, π/2) as temperature approaches zero, in agreement with neutron scattering experiments. Coulomb repulsion G between the first neighbors turns out to be the source of Charge Dens...
We show from real-space Hartree-Fock calculations within the extended Hubbard model that next-nearest neighbor (t8) hopping processes act to suppress the formation of static charge stripes. This result is confirmed by investigating the evolution of charge-inhomogeneous corral and stripe phases with increasing t8 of both signs. We propose that large t8 values in YBCO prevent static stripe format...
Using the mean field theory in the slave-boson approach we analyzed the electron correlation effects in the stripe phases. One finds that a finite next-nearest neighbor hopping t plays an important role in the low doping regime, where it controls the crossover from the filled diagonal to half-filled vertical/horizontal stripes at doping x ≃ 1/16.
In this paper we describe a method for synthesizing joint angle and translation data based on the information in motion capture data. The synthetic data is realistic not only in that it resembles the original training data, but in that it has random variations that are statistically similar to what one would find in repeated measurements of the motion. To achieve this result, the training data ...
We present a theoretical analysis of the environment effects on charge transport in double-stranded synthetic poly(G)-poly(C) DNA molecules attached to two ideal leads. Coupling of the DNA to the environment results in two effects: (i) localization of carrier functions due to the static disorder and (ii) phonon-induced scattering of the carrier between these localized states, resulting in hoppi...
Time-hopping patterns can be constructed from simple difference sets. By studying such constructions, we prove that whenever n 2, n, n 1, or n + 1 is a prime power, then we can construct timehopping patterns that have n terms, and are of length less than n2. We show by computation that such patterns can have length less then n2 n’ for all n 5 150. We also show that time-hopping patterns of n te...
In this paper we consider the Anderson type model and show that the density of states is analytic in an interval for large disorder. The examples we have allow for the single site distributions to have some singular components. We also allow non-nearest neighbour hopping terms.
From a hopping rate equation for disordered materials we derive a macroscopic drift{di usion equation. For this purposes two space{time scales are simultaneously considered. The microscopic dynamics is characterized by the distribution of localized states and the hopping rate. On the macroscopic space scale both the hopping rate and the disordered material are allowed to be inhomogeneous.
Commuting data is increasingly used to describe population mobility in epidemic models. However, there is little evidence that the spatial spread of observed epidemics agrees with commuting. Here, using data from 25 epidemics for influenza-like illness in France (ILI) as seen by the Sentinelles network, we show that commuting volume is highly correlated with the spread of ILI. Next, we provide ...
One of the potential future development areas in the GSM/EDGE standard is the increase of user peak transfer rates. For a wide area coverage system like GSM/EDGE, the design of higher data rate scheme can be based on the transmission on multiple carriers, instead of one single carrier. This work evaluates the feasibility of a multicarrier concept in GSM/EDGE and aims at minimizing modifications...
