‎let $p$ be a prime with $pgeq 7$ and $q=2(p-1)$‎. ‎in this paper‎ ‎we prove the existence of a nontrivial product of‎ ‎filtration $s+4$ in the stable homotopy groups of spheres‎. ‎this nontrivial‎ ‎product is shown to be represented up to a nonzero scalar by‎ ‎the product element $widetilde{gamma}_{s}b_{n-1}g_{0}in‎ ‎{ext}_{mathcal{a}}^{s+4,(p^n+sp^2+sp+s)q+s-3}(mathbb{z}/p,mathbb{z}/p)$‎ ‎in ...

Persons with sensorineural hearing loss suffer from degraded speech perception caused by frequency-dependent elevation of hearing thresholds, reduced dynamic range and abnormal loudness growth, and increased temporal and spectral masking. For improving speech perception by persons with moderate loss of this type, a digital hearing aid is implemented as an Android-based smartphone app. It uses s...

Six-particle and eight-particle common-gap plasmonic nanoantennas are utilized to obtain a broadband spectral response when illuminated with circular and elliptical polarization. Due to the insensitivity of dipole antennas to circular polarization, the resonant structures are brought together around the common-gap to expand the spectrum of the whole system. Their ability to focus light at diffe...

The coupled cluster method is applied to a strongly correlated lattice Hamiltonian, and the coupled cluster linear response method is extended to the calculation of electronic spectra by finding an approximation to a resolvent operator which describes the spectral response of the coupled cluster solution to excitation operators. In this spectral coupled cluster method, the ground and excited st...

A method for efficient quantization of speech spectral models is proposed. The impulse response of the model is coded in two spectral subbands of unequal width. The distortion measure used is a squared error between impulse responses. The quality obtained at 22 bits per frame is as good as that of Split Vector Quantization of Line Spectral Frequencies at 24 bits per frame.

In this paper, we propose a technique that uses genetic algorithm (GA) with Fuzzy ARTMAP (FA) classifier to identify the discriminatory subset of the feature set for classification of alcoholics and non-alcoholics using brain rhythm extracted during visual stimulus. In the experimental study, the feature set consists of seven spectral power ratios extracted from 61 visual evoked potential (VEP)...

The corneal electroretinogram (ERG) was used to investigate the spectral sensitivities of cones in 12 dichromatic squirrel monkeys (Saimiri sciureus) whose color-vision capacities were established in behavioral tests. Three different varieties of dichromacy were represented among these animals. A flicker-photometric procedure was used in which the ERG response to a rapidly flickering monochroma...

Classically, neural adaptation refers to a reduction in response magnitude by sustained stimulation. In human electroencephalography (EEG), neural adaptation has been measured, for example, as frequency-specific response decrease by previous stimulation. Only recently and mainly based on animal studies, it has been suggested that statistical properties in the stimulation lead to adjustments of ...

Hemispherical reflectance and internal quantum efficiency measurements have been employed to evaluate the response of Si nanostructured surfaces formed by using random and periodic reactive ion etching techniques. Random RIE-textured surfaces have demonstrated solar weighted reflectance of= 3 ‘?XO over 3001200-nm spectral range even without the benefit of anti-reflection films. Random RIE-textu...

We demonstrate polarization-dependent photo-response enhancement in metamaterial-coupled quantum dots-in-a-well infrared detectors. A gold split-ring resonator metamaterial layer was patterned by electronbeam lithography in the detector aperture. In this integrated structure, the detector spectral response is given by the convolution of the metamaterial field enhancement and the original detect...
