Antennas that are capable to radiate in the Ultra-wideband (UWB) range is a major area of current research. The UWB range is accompanied through the integration of Multiple-InputMultiple-Output (MIMO). In this paper, two circular monopole antennas are acting as the radiating elements. A T-shape stub is placed between the radiator elements to enhance isolation. The proposed antenna is capable of...
A ring-imaging Čerenkov counter read out by a 100-channel PMT of active area 10×10 cm was operated successfully in a test beam at the BNL AGS with several radiator gases, including the heavy fluorocarbon C4F10 . Ring radii were measured for electrons, muons, pions and kaons over the particle momentum range from 2 to 12 GeV/c, and a best resolution of σr/r = 2.3% was obtained.
We understand the real world in terms of objects: When we look at a picture or our surroundings, or when we close our eyes and listen, we organize the information arriving from the outside world in terms of attributes for perceived, independent objects. “Independence” can refer to physical separability (the pen on my desk), behavioral autonomy (the hissing steam valve on the radiator), or more ...
We have observed Cherenkov rings from minimum-ionizing particles using a low-pressure, parallel-plate pad-chamber with a cesium-iodide solid photocathode . This detector is blind to minimum-ionizing particles, and sensitive to Cherenkov photons of wavelengths 170-210 rim. An average of 5 photoelectrons per Cherenkov ring were detected using a 2-cm-thick radiator of liquid C6F14 . This paper rep...
This paper reports the design of a Ka-band Equilateral triangular patch antenna (ETPA) fabricated using postCMOS and post-MMIC compatible process technology. The antenna uses an air-cavity underneath the patch radiator that is supported on thin dielectric membrane. The antenna structure was analysed and optimised using the finite element method (FEM) based Agilent High Frequency Structure Simul...
Methods for investigating the y rays from active isotopes are discussed. A method is described which permits the study of very faint samples. It is possible by this method to obtain information about the intensities as well as the energies of the y rays. Such investiga tions necessitate knowledge of the efficiency curve for a secondary-electron radiator. With the aid of the known term schemes ...
The success of the LHCb experiment depends heavily on particle identification over the momentum range 2−100 GeV/c. To meet this challenge, LHCb uses a Ring Imaging Cherenkov (RICH) system composed of two detectors with three radiators. RICH1 has both aerogel and gas (C4F10) radiators, while RICH2 has only a gas (CF4) radiator. The design of RICH1 is almost complete, whereas RICH2 has been const...
In phased array antennas, the number of radiator rows is one of the important factors to minimizing both cost and weight. Therefore, the antenna tilt angles having relation with the element spacing are among the important design parameters. In this paper, the optimum tilt angles for several types of dipole planar arrays are investigated theoretically. To obtain optimum tilt angles, the directiv...
China's BeiDou satellite navigation system (BDS) has completed its full constellation in orbit since June 2020. Services have been evolved from regional (BDS-2) to global (BDS-3). This contribution evaluates the impact of solar radiation pressure (SRP) modeling on orbits and geodetic parameters. To that end, we process 2 years BDS observations (2019-2021), collected by a network 100 ground stat...
