Machine comprehension of text is a significant problem in natural language processing today – in this project, we tackle machine reading comprehension as applied to question answering. Our goal is: given a question and a context paragraph, to extract from the paragraph the answer to the question. As an oracle, on the dataset we used, humans score over 86.8% accuracy (EM) on the test set for thi...

Let B be the operation of re-ordering a sequence by one pass of bubble sort. We completely answer the question of when the inverse image of a principal pattern class under B is a pattern class.

We give a complete answer to the question whether a double sequence that is generated by a one-dimensional linear cellular automaton, and whose states are integers modulo m, is k-automatic or not.

It is known that the imaginary parts of the roots of the Riemann’s ζ−function are uniformly distributed. This fact led Calude to a natural question: is the corresponding sequence (of binary expansions merged together) random in the sense of Martin-Löf? Our answer is negative: this sequence is not random.

lots of papers has been written about iran’s military strategy explain military strategy of iran is deterrence, but there is a little paper that explain why iran chose this strategy? the paper tries to answer this question. two hypotheses are presented as probable answers to the question: 1-chang of balance power in the middle east 2- intensification of u.s pressure on iran for regime change.lo...

This paper explores a method to answer natural language musicological queries against electronic music scores, with the aim of developing a complete grammar specification in the domain. Our system takes a three step approach to finding the answers to the queries first, it replaces the musical features in the question with our own tags in a key value form, and also replaces words in the question...

Today, computer vision systems are tested by their accuracy in detecting and localizing instances of objects. As an alternative, and motivated by the ability of humans to provide far richer descriptions and even tell a story about an image, we construct a "visual Turing test": an operator-assisted device that produces a stochastic sequence of binary questions from a given test image. The query ...

We study a number of conditions on the Hilbert function of a level artinian algebra which imply the Weak Lefschetz Property (WLP). Possibly the most important open case is whether a codimension 3 SI-sequence forces the WLP for level algebras. In other words, does every codimension 3 Gorenstein algebra have the WLP? We give some new partial answers to this old question: we prove an affirmative a...

Open forum threads exhibit a great variability in the quality and quantity of the answers they attract, making it difficult to manually moderate and separate relevant from irrelevant content. The goal of SemEval 2015 Task 3 (Subtask A, English) is to build systems that automatically distinguish between relevant and irrelevant content in forum threads. We extend a short answer assessment system ...
