Optical coherence tomography (OCT) and polarized Raman spectroscopy (PRS) have been shown as useful methods for distinguishing sound enamel from carious lesions ex vivo. However, factors in the oral environment such as calculus, hypocalcification, and stain could lead to false-positive results. OCT and PRS were used to investigate extracted human teeth clinically examined for sound enamel, whit...

BACKGROUND Post-radiation sarcoma (PRS) is an uncommon disease manifesting as sarcoma in a previously irradiated field, usually with a latent period of 5 years or more. Literature is limited to small series. Optimal management of this disease is unclear. Positive margins are common following attempted curative surgery and outcomes are poor. Radiotherapy is hardly used and its effect on PRS is n...

This paper explores recent problems with Premium Rate Number Service (PRS) use in UK participation TV through a regulatory convergence analytical lens. In 2003, the UK government created the communications convergence regulator, Ofcom, yet PRS regulation continued to remain the responsibility of PhonepayPlus (PPP), originally established in 1986. The paper argues that Ofcom could have anticipat...

Agomelatine is a novel antidepressant acting as an MT1/MT2 melatonin receptor agonist/5-HT2C serotonin receptor antagonist. Because of its peculiar pharmacological profile, this drug caters the potential to correct the abnormalities of circadian rhythms associated with mood disorders, including abnormalities of the sleep/wake cycle. Here, we examined the effect of chronic agomelatine treatment ...

There are various methods to evaluating phosphate rock for direct application. The first approach is solubility test of Phosphate Rocks (PR) using chemical extractant. In this study to compare the effectiveness of direct application of PRs, two samples of a sedimentary unbeneficiated PR from Lar mine of Yasooj and two samples of concentrated PR of Asfordi igneous PR of Yazd in Iran along with o...

30 Temporal Lobe Epilepsy (TLE) is the most common form of adult epilepsy, characterized 31 by recurrent seizures originating in the temporal lobes. Here, we examine TLE-related changes 32 in the presubiculum (PrS), a less-studied parahippocampal structure that both receives inputs 33 from and projects to regions affected by TLE. We assessed the state of PrS neurons in TLE 34 electrophysiologic...

Dynamically Structured Holographic Memory (DSHM) is architecture for modeling memory. It was originally designed to account for long-term memory alone. However, the current model of Paper, Rock, Scissors (PRS) play (and Rock=2 PRS play) provides evidence that DSHM can be used to model tasks where the truth of facts change quickly and dynamically.

The evolution of polarization and spin angular momentum (SAM) in periodically rocking superlattices (PRS) is investigated. Unlike in the birefringent crystal, they exhibit unusual properties. The evolution of polarization shows many remarkable trajectories and the SAM oscillates inside the PRS. The results may find applications in polarization-state or optical SAM control.

BACKGROUND Progesterone is a key hormonal regulator of the female reproductive system. It plays a major role to prepare the uterus for implantation and in the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy. Actions of progesterone on the uterine tissues (endometrium, myometrium and cervix) are mediated by the combined effects of two progesterone receptor (PR) isoforms, designated PR-A and PR-B. Bot...

BACKGROUND Principal Recipients (PRs) receive money from the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (Global Fund) to manage and implement programs. However, little research has gone into understanding their opinions and experiences. This survey set out to describe these, thereby providing a baseline against which changes in PR opinions and experiences can be assessed as the recentl...
