Background: Possibility to trace-label albumin with isotopes results in information concerning its synthesis, breakdown, and distribution in the intra and extra cellular spaces. The iodination of albumin is a widespread procedure used in scientific studies. Bromine not only is more reactive and less expensive than iodine, but bonds more easily with many elements. Therefore, it could be a suitab...
Thiopental (TPL) is a commonly used barbiturate anesthetic. Its binding with human serum albumin (HSA) was studied to explore the anesthetic-induced protein dysfunction. The basic binding interaction was studied by UV-absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy. An increase in the binding affinity (K) and in the number of binding sites (n) with the increasing albumin concentration was observed. Th...

AIM To synthesize and to study for photodynamic activity a composite photosensitizer consisting of chlorin e6 and human serum albumin nanoparticles (HSA NPs). MATERIALS AND METHODS Starting from sorption-purified HSA, the albumin nanoparticles with a different degree of lysine residues cross-linking (10; 20; 40, and 100%) were obtained by the coacervation method. The HSA NPs were used for syn...
Artificial hemoprotein nanotubes have been prepared by a layer-by-layer deposition technique with human serum albumin (HSA) incorporating the synthetic heme (FeP) [HSA-FeP] using an anodic porous alumina template; each of the liberated tubules has a very uniform outer/inner diameter and can reversibly bind dioxygen (O(2)) at 25 degrees C.
The affinity and specificity of drugs with human serum albumin (HSA) are crucial factors influencing the bioactivity of drugs. To gain insight into the carrier function of HSA, the binding of levamlodipine with HSA has been investigated as a model system by a combined experimental and theoretical/computational approach. The fluorescence properties of HSA and the binding parameters of levamlodip...
Background: In this study, using anti-human serum albumin (HSA)-conjugated gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) as an electrochemical label and mobile crystalline material-41 (MCM-41)–polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) mesoporous nanocomposite as an immobilization platform, a new immunosensor was established. Methods: Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV), and diffe...
A spectrofluorimetric method is proposed for the determination of human serum albumin (HSA) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) using terbium-danofloxacin (Tb(3+)-Dano) as a fluorescent probe. These proteins remarkably enhance the fluorescence intensity of the Tb(3+)-Dano complex at 545 nm, and the enhanced fluorescence intensity of Tb(3+)-Dano is proportional to the concentration of proteins (HSA a...
We have synthesized and characterized a water-soluble gold(III) corrole (1-Au) that is highly toxic to cisplatin-resistant cancer cells. Relative to its 1-Ga analogue, axial ligands bind only weakly to 1-Au, which likely accounts for its lower affinity for human serum albumin (HSA). We suggest that the cytotoxicity of 1-Au may be related to this lower HSA affinity.
Abstract Determining potential abilities of nanostructures to induce toxicity biological molecules is still a convoluted challenge in the realm nanomedicine. Based on unprecedented achievements two-dimensional nanomaterials nearly all areas applied sciences particularly medicine, we carried out all-atom molecular dynamics simulations assess biologically important, yet unmapped issue biocompatib...
