Self-supporting superconducting replicas of pasta shapes are reported, yielding products of differing 3D architectures. Functioning high-temperature superconductor wires are developed and refined from replicas of spaghetti, demonstrating a unique sol-gel processing technique for the design and synthesis of novel macroscopic morphologies of complex functional materials.
The influence of full-fat soy flour (FFSF) and extrusion conditions on the mechanical characteristics of dry spaghetti were evaluated. Process was performed with screw speed of 10-40rpm and water circulating temperature of 35-70°C. In this note, the \conditional pasta theorem" of van Doorn and Regterschot is proved under more general conditions and via a stochastic integral approach of independent interest. The limit theorems here require less restrictive assumptions and are shown for a wider class of arrival processes. Applications are also presented for particular cases of continuous and discrete-time arrivals.
We show that for one-dimensional fluids the thermal conductivity generically diverges with system size L as L(1/3), as a result of momentum conservation. Our results are consistent with the largest-scale numerical studies of two-component hard-particle systems. We suggest explanations for the apparent disagreement with studies on Fermi-Pasta-Ulam chains.
For the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam chain, an effective Hamiltonian is constructed, describing the motion of approximate, weakly localized discrete breathers traveling along the chain. The velocity of these moving and localized vibrations can be estimated analytically as the group velocity of the corresponding wave packet. The Peierls-Nabarro barrier is estimated for strongly localized discrete breathers.
