High-performance multistage data converters and sub-sampling frequency downconverters typically require track and hold amplifiers (THAs) with high sampling rates and high linearity. This paper presents a THA for sub-sampling communications applications based on a diode bridge design with high-speed Schottky diodes and an improved current source approach for enhanced linearity. Implemented in a ...
in this study an ultra-broad band, low-power, and high-gain cmos distributed amplifier (cmos-da) utilizing a new gain-cell based on the inductively peaking cascaded structure is presented. it is created bycascading of inductively coupled common-source (cs) stage and regulated cascode configuration (rgc).the proposed three-stage da is simulated in 0.13 μm cmos process. it achieves flat and high ...
This work presents a 2.4 GHz, reconfigurable RF Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) using on-chip peak detection and calibration, to mitigate the deleterious effects of process, voltage and temperature (PVT) variations. The LNA can reconfigure its input impedance matching, as well as its gain. On-chip detection of optimal input/output impedance matching is performed using an amplitude peak detector. The ...
A SiGe micromixer for 2.4/5.2/5.7-GHz multiband WLAN applications is demonstrated for the first time. Our experimental results show that the input return loss S11 is below 18 dB from DC to 20 GHz with voltage gains of 32, 26, and 25 dB at frequencies of 2.4, 5.2, and 5.7 GHz, respectively. The wideband matching characteristic makes the micromixer very suitable for multiband applications. Input ...
In this paper, an 8 – 18 GHz wideband low noise amplifier (LNA) with an active balun fabricated in a 0.13-μm SiGe BiCMOS technology was presented. The LNA achieves 16dB of gain with 1.5 dB variation over the 8GHz to 18 GHz frequency band and a matched input with less than -9 dB of reflection. The minimum noise figure (NF) is 5 dB at 8GHz and increases to 6 dB at 18GHz. The measured IIP3 is -15-...
This study presents an electronically tunable configuration for the design of a voltage-mode (VM) biquad with four input terminals and three output terminals. The proposed circuit employs operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) two grounded capacitors. Depending on selections voltage signals, all standard filtering functions can be realized. simultaneously provides VM inverting band-pass...
In this study, an eight-channel wide-band intermediate frequency (IF) receiver with S-band input frequency, output of 200 MHz, and a signal bandwidth 160 MHz was developed. The performance measurement results the IF showed that fundamental second harmonic were involved in output. This caused by nonlinearity characteristics final stage amplifier. Therefore, amplifier changed to differential ampl...
A parallel structure for a CMOS four-quadrant analog multiplier is proposed and analyzed. By applying differential input signals to a set of combiners, the multiplication function can be implemented. Based on the proposed structure, a low-voltage high-performance CMOS four-quadrant analog multiplier is designed and fabricated by 0.8m N-well doublepoly-double-metal CMOS technology. Experimental ...
This report describes a sub-harmonic mixer for WCDMA applications. The circuit converts a 2 GHz RF signal directly to baseband using a 1 GHz LO frequency. The mixer uses common source MOSFETs with inductive degeneration to convert the input RF voltage to a current. This current is then steered using a switching network composed of triode-region MOSFETs that is driven with the LO and a 90 degree...
