Abstract In high density Ohmically heated discharges in the tokamak TEXTOR a transition from the saturated Ohmic confinement (SOC) to the improved Ohmic confinement (IOC) was observed triggered by a sudden reduction of the external gas flow. The SOC–IOC transition was investigated regarding the influence of the toroidal ITG instability driven by the ion temperature gradient (ITG). The ion tempe...
We discuss the role of ambipolar diffusion for simple reconnection in a partially ionized gas, following the reconnection geometry of Parker and Sweet. When the recombination time is short the mobility and reconnection of the magnetic field is substantially enhanced as matter escapes from the reconnection region via ambipolar diffusion. Our analysis shows that in the interstellar medium it is t...
The temperature stability of Ge/Au/Ni/Au ohmic contacts to GaAs nanoheterostructures and Ti/Al/Ni/Au GaN on silicon substrate was investigated. It has been established that optimization the RTA process made it possible obtain with field emission current flow mechanism. thermal for transistors mesa resistors demonstrated threshold behavior heat treatment temperature. optimum parameters minimum c...
This paper presents a low cost process for fabrication of high efficiency silicon-based solar cells from front side ARC patterning through contact line metallization. This process utilizes a screen printable etch resist to define the contact pattern and a wet etching solution to remove the exposed ARC layer. The metallization stack for the contact line pattern consists of a nickel silicide ohmi...
Using three-dimensional resistive MHD nested grid simulations, we investigate the driving mechanism of outflows and jets in star formation process. Starting with a Bonnor-Ebert isothermal cloud rotating in a uniform magnetic field, we calculated cloud evolution from the molecular cloud core (nc = 10 4 cm, r = 4.6×10 AU) to the stellar core (nc = 10 22 cm, r ∼ 1R⊙), where nc and r denote the cen...
Cable accessories for mediumand high voltage applications contain field grading and field zoning parts or layers. These parts often consist of electrically conductive silicone elastomers. The electrical conductivity is achieved by using selected and long-term tested carbon blacks. Conductive layers and parts are used to provide safety against exposure, inner shielding and an electrical contact ...
The purpose of the paper is to apply monotone multigrid methods to static and dynamic biomechanical contact problems. In space, a finite element method involving a mortar discretization of the contact conditions is used. In time, a new contact–stabilized Newmark scheme is presented. Numerical experiments for a two body Hertzian contact problem and a biomechanical application are reported.
