Label-free Raman microspectroscopy combined with a multivariate curve resolution (MCR) analysis can be a powerful tool for studying a wide range of biomedical molecular systems. The MCR with the alternating least squares (MCR-ALS) technique, which retrieves the pure component spectra from complicatedly overlapped spectra, has been successfully applied to in vivo and molecular-level analysis of ...

Follicular lymphoma (FL) is characterized by the t(14;18)(q32;q21) chromosomal translocation which can be detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in approximately 70% of cases. The aim of our retrospective study was to evaluate the sensitivity and the reproducibility of both conventional qualitative and quantitative PCR assays for detection of the t(14;18)(q32;q21) chromosomal translocation...

A series of novel alkynyl substituted 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-one (DHPM) derivatives were designed, synthesized and evaluated in vitro as potential inhibitors of chorismate mutase (CM). All these compounds were prepared via a multi-component reaction (MCR) involving sequential I2-mediated Biginelli reaction followed by Cu-free Sonogashira coupling. Some of them showed promising inhibitory ac...

We investigated the consequences of colistin use in backyard chicken farms in Vietnam by examining the prevalence of mcr-1 in fecal samples from chickens and humans. Detection of mcr-1-carrying bacteria in chicken samples was associated with colistin use and detection in human samples with exposure to mcr-1-positive chickens.
Escherichia coli (E. coli) strains placed in predominant nosocomial bacteria intensive care units (ICUs), resulting severe drug-resistant infections. Non-susceptibility to β-lactams and last-line drugs such as Fosfomycin Colistin cause limited availability of infections eradication. The objective this study included the determination genes encoding extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL), Carbapen...
A catalyst, solvent, work-up and column free synthesis of chromenopyranpyrazoles via multicomponent cascade reaction has been achieved with high stereoselectivity. This novel reaction creates two N-C, two C-C and one O-C bonds through a domino process for the construction of three new rings and three contiguous stereogenic centers.
Potassium tribromide wrapped around polyethylene glycol ({K+PEG400}Br3-) was easily prepared by two step reaction of PEG400 with KBr followed by the addition of molecular bromine to give PEG embedded potassium tribromide as a dark viscous oil. The synthesized material was found to be an efficient, cost effective, environmentally benig...
A mild and efficient one-pot three-component and environmentally benign approach for the synthesis of a wide range of hydantoin annulated derivatives has been described. A multi-component reaction between a carbonyl compounds (ketone or aldehyde), potassium cyanide and ammonium carbonate (as cyanating agent and amine source, respectively leads to the formation of hydantoins. The proposed optimi...
Passerini three-component reaction and multicomponent polymerization (MCP) were demonstrated to be facile methods for the preparation of photo-cleavable polymers, photo- and redox-dually cleavable polymers, as well as block copolymers.
