We study the pairwise interaction of reggeized gluons and quarks in the Regge limit of perturbative QCD. The interactions are represented as integral kernels in the transverse momentum space and as operators in the impact parameter space. We observe conformal symmetry and holomorphic factorization in all cases.

A complete description of W and Z boson production at highenergy colliders requires the resummation of large Sudakov logarithms which dominate the production at small transverse momentum. Currently there are two techniques for performing this resummation: impact parameter space and transverse momentum space. We argue that the latter can be formulated in a way which retains the advantages of the...

The phenomenon of zero resistance at low cryogenic temperatures was discovered in 1911 by Prof. H. K. Onnes in the Netherlands in the course of studying the low-temperature properties of metals. He tried and failed to make an electromagnet of lead wire, and it was not until 1961 that the method to make superconducting materials for successful high-field magnets was discovered. Meanwhile, in 193...

The Lagrange-mesh method is a very accurate procedure to compute eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of a two-body quantum equation. The method requires only the evaluation of the potential at some mesh points in the configuration space. It is shown that the eigenfunctions can be easily computed in the momentum space by a Fourier transform using the properties of the basis functions. Observables in ...

We develop a new systematic procedure for the Regge limit in perturbative QCD to arbitrary logarithmic order. The formalism relies on the IR structure and the gauge symmetry of the theory. We identify leading regions in loop momentum space responsible for the singular structure of the amplitudes and perform power counting to determine the strength of these divergences. Using a factorization pro...

Modified functions r−αρ(r) and p−β (p) of the spherically averaged electron densities ρ(r) in position space and (p) in momentum space are found to be convex (i.e., the second derivatives are nonnegative everywhere) for all the 103 ground-state atoms from hydrogen (atomic number Z = 1) to lawrencium (Z = 103), if the parameters are chosen to be α 0.6 and β 1.4. The convex property of r−αρ(r) an...

The analytic aspects of the operator realization of Wick power series of infrared singular free fields are considered. Taking advantage of the holomorphy properties of the two-point correlation function and its Hilbert majorant in x-space, we solve in a general and model independent way the problem of finding the adequate test function space on which a given Wick series is convergent. Substanti...

Using a scale transformation in momentum space a phase equivalent relativistic potential is generated from the nonrelativistic potential. By that transformation a practical method for the relativistic 3N scattering with realistic nucleon-nucleon potentials is introduced. The formalism can be applied to any realistic nonrelativistic potential. We also discuss the locations of the moving logarith...

Abstract. We present here generalization of the recursion method of Haydock et al [1] for the calculation of Green matrices (in angular momentum space). Earlier approaches concentrated on the diagonal elements, since the focus was on spectral densities. However, calculations of configuration averaged response functions or neutron scattering cross-sections require the entire Green matrices and s...

In the limit of center-of-mass energy much greater than the momentum transfer, ŝ ≫ |t̂|, any scattering process is dominated by gluon exchange in the cross channel. Building upon this fact, the BFKL theory [ 1] models stronginteraction processes with two large and disparate scales, by resumming the radiative corrections to parton-parton scattering. This is achieved to leading logarithmic (LL) ac...
