This study describes a new species, Crossotarsus beaveri Lai & Wang, sp. nov. , designates combination, C. brevis (Browne, 1975, comb. from Platypus Herbst, 1793), and notes record, emorsus Beeson, 1937, China. Genetic data four genes indicate that the species form clade clustered with other species. Molecular phylogeny morphological characters support their taxonomic placement.
