In this paper, we present the mode-locked operation of an ultra-robustly stabilised Nd:GdVO(4) laser with low repetition rate by combining quadratic polarisation switching and a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM). In addition, similar experiment was also done with Nd:YVO(4). For Nd:GdVO(4), 16-ps pulses at 1063 nm with a repetition rate of 3.95 MHz have been obtained for a laser av...

The plantar reflex is one of most important and widely tested components of the neurological examination. The aim of this study is to present a package including standard software for the electroencephalographic (EEG), electro-oculographic (EOG) and electromyographic (EMG) preliminary data analysis, which may be suitable to standardize the results of many EEG research centers studies (i.e. multi-centric studies) especially focused on event-related potentials. In particular, our software package inc...

In this study, fertilized mirror carp eggs were allowed to develop in fresh water with various magnesium concentrations (0.05, 0.2 and 2 mg l). The percentage of dead (eggs+prelarvae) and deformed prelarvae increased sharply to 94% at an ambient magnesium concentration of 0.05 mg l compared with 22 and 10% at ambient magnesium concentrations of 0.2 mg l and 2.0 mg l, respectively. Mirror carp r...
