A new permanent magnet design for axial flux interior permanent magnet (AFIPM) motor is described in this paper. Poleshoes are traditionally used to produce sinusoidal flux linkage and sinusoidal EMF especially in the case of radial flux synchronous machines. Poleshoes are not a practical solution in the case of axial flux PM machine. The use of poleshoes in the production of sinusoidal back EM...
background: manual handling, lifting, or carrying of material is responsible for non-fatal injuries among employees in industries. it is the second most prevalent reported risk factor in workplaces that can lead to potential manual handling accidents and longer-term musculoskeletal disorders (msds). the aim of this study was the evaluation of manual material handling using the american national...
The flow set with partial order is a mixed-integer set described by a budget on total flow and a partial order on the arcs that may carry positive flow. This set is a common substructure of resource allocation and scheduling problems with precedence constraints and robust network flow problems under demand/capacity uncertainty. We give a polyhedral analysis of the convex hull of the flow set wi...
Description Uses a modified lifting algorithm on which it builds the nondecimated lifting transform. It has applications in wavelet shrinkage.
We show that a certain subspace of space of elliptic cusp forms is isomorphic as a Hecke module to a certain subspace of space of Jacobi cusp forms of degree one with matrix index by constructing an explicit lifting. This is a partial generalization of the work of Skoruppa and Zagier. This lifting is also related with the Ikeda lifting.
UNLABELLED It is unclear whether the maximum acceptable weight of lift (MAWL), a common psychophysical method, reflects joint kinetics when different lifting techniques are employed. In a within-participants study (n = 12), participants performed three lifting techniques--free style, stoop and squat lifting from knee to waist level--using the same dynamic functional capacity evaluation lifting ...
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to investigate the lifting characteristics of elders with functional limitations using burden lifting smoothness, trunk angular momentum, and back and hip torque, and to correlate these characteristics with strength and functional measures. METHODS Thirty elders (65-89 years old) consented to biomechanical analysis of lifting, gait, and chair rise, and...
The 1991 NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) revised lifting equation’s objective is to prevent or reduce lifting-related injuries, especially of the low back. However, the lifting equation is only applicable to two-handed lifting tasks. Oneand twohanded repetitive lifting tasks are a consistent part of many occupations. Understanding the metabolic demands of oneand tw...
In the present work, an integrated method of pole shape design optimization for reduction of torque pulsation components in permanent magnet synchronous motors is developed. A progressive design process is presented to find feasible optimal shapes. This method is applied on the pole shape optimization of two prototype permanent magnet synchronous motors, i.e., 4-poles/6-slots and 4-poles-12slots.
It is shown that a complex normal projective variety has non-positive Kodaira dimension if it admits a non-isomorphic quasi-polarized endomorphism. The geometric structure of the variety is described by methods of equivariant lifting and fibrations. Endomorphisms of the projective spaces are also discussed and some results on invariant subvarieties under the pullback of the endomorphism are obt...
