visceral leishmaniasis (vl) is one of the most important parasitic diseases which is endemic in different parts of iran. serological studies were conducted by direct agglutination test (dat) on 12144 human serum samples, collected from four geographical zones of iran. sero prevalence, geographical distribution, clinical signs and symptoms for human visceral leishmaniasis based on dat for the pe...

We use a simple linearized Navier-Stokes-based model to study the large-scale quasistreamwise rolls in unstably stratified turbulent channel flows. As influence of buoyancy-driven mechanisms (relative shear-driven mechanisms) increases, channel-wide structures with two-peaks intensity temperature emerges from linear model, consistent direct numerical simulations.

Tests on eighteen small scale models which simulate the elastic and post-buckling behaviour of plate girders when subjected to shear loading are reported and discussed. Themodels were fabricated of steel and Araldite; the major aim was to assess whether small scale models can be employed to study shear buckling problems. A secondary object was to examine whether araldite could be used for predi...

subgrade soil stabilization is one of the primary and major processes in the construction of any highway; also environmental authorities are concerned about the growing amount of polyethylene (pet) bottles produced by household sectors. this research in order to study effect of adding recycled polyester fiber on soil engineering properties, especially shear strength and california bearing ratio...

Temperature–salinity profiles from the region studied in the North Atlantic Tracer Release Experiment (NATRE) show large isopycnal excursions at depths just below the thermocline. It is proposed here that these thermohaline filaments result from the mesoscale stirring of large-scale temperature and salinity gradients by geostrophic turbulence, resulting in a direct cascade of thermohaline varia...

The prediction quality of discrete element method (DEM) models for railway ballast can be expected to depend on three points: the geometry representation of the single particles, the used contact models and the parametrisation using principal experiments. This works aims at a balanced approach, where none of the points is addressed with excessive depth. In a first step, a simple geometry repres...
