One has but to know something of the precarious character of routine toxin production to be aware that the artificial conversion of low value toxins to those of high titre is a problem of more than mere academic interest. In the search for a suitable process by which this may be done it is soon realised that purely chemical methods such as those referred to so completely by Pick [1912] are not ...
We examine a technology adoption game with network e¤ects in which coordination on technology A and technology B constitute a Nash equilibrium. Coordination on technology B is assumed to be payo¤-dominant. We de ne a technologys critical mass as the minimum share of users necessary to make the choice of this technology a best response for any remaining user. We show that the technology with a ...
In this article, we present and compare two different, coarse-grained approaches to model electrostatic interactions of disc-shaped aromatic molecules, specifically coronene. Our study builds on our previous work [T. Heinemann et al., J. Chem. Phys. 141, 214110 (2014)], where we proposed, based on a systematic coarse-graining procedure starting from the atomistic level, an anisotropic effective...

The complete amino acid sequence of phenobarbital-induced isozyme 2 of rabbit liver microsomal cytochrome P-450 (P-450LM2) is presented. The polypeptide consists of 491 residues with a calculated Mr of 55,755. The rabbit isozyme is 77% identical to the corresponding rat cytochrome, P-450b, as deduced from cDNA, with 96% of the hydrophobic, 88% of the anionic, and 83% of the cationic positions c...
