Secure Multiparty Computation (SMC) enables multiple parties to cooperate securely without compromising their privacy. SMC has the potential offer solutions for privacy obstacles in vehicular networks. However, classical implementations suffer from efficiency and security challenges. To address this problem, two quantum communication technologies, Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) Oblivious were u...

The insufficient supply of K-12 language – world (WL) and English as a second (ESL) teachers in the United States has been pervasive challenge for school administrators seeking to provide learning opportunities their students. issue is complex including numerous factors that adversely affect recruitment future educators well retention once classroom. Almost all states report dearth WL and/or ES...

This Lecture begins with a puzzle about Albert Hirschman’s famous work, Exit, Voice, and Loyalty: Why do we make much of exit and voice but utterly neglect loyalty? It’s a question that goes well beyond Hirschman’s book. For example, much of constitutional theory is preoccupied with a single question: What does a democracy owe its minorities? And most of the answers to this question fit natural...

Terminal differentiation is often coupled with permanent exit from the cell cycle, yet it is unclear how cell proliferation is blocked in differentiated tissues. We examined the process of cell cycle exit in Drosophila wings and eyes and discovered that cell cycle exit can be prevented or even reversed in terminally differentiating cells by the simultaneous activation of E2F1 and either Cyclin ...

In budding yeast, if the spindle becomes mispositioned, cells prevent exit from mitosis by inhibiting the mitotic exit network (MEN). The MEN is a signaling cascade that localizes to spindle pole bodies (SPBs) and activates the phosphatase Cdc14. There are two competing models that explain MEN regulation by spindle position. In the 'zone model', exit from mitosis occurs when a MEN-bearing SPB e...

The aims of this paper are to use a birandom variable to denote the stock return selected by some recurring technical patterns and to study the effect of exit strategy on optimal portfolio selection with birandom returns. Firstly, we propose a newmethod to estimate the stock return and use birandom distribution to denote the final stock return which can reflect the features of technical pattern...

We discuss a class of problems which we call lattice exit models. At one level, these problems provide undergraduate level exercises in labeling the vertices of graphs (e.g., depth first search). At another level (theorems about large scale regularities of labels) they provide concrete geometric examples of ZFC independence. We note some combinatorial and algorithmic implications.

Normalized cut is a widely used measure of separation between clusters in a graph. In this paper we provide a novel probabilistic perspective on this measure. We show that for a partition of a graph into two weakly connected sets, V = A B, the multiway normalized cut is approximately MNcut ≈ 1/τA→B + 1/τB→A, where τA→B is the unidirectional characteristic exit time of a random walk from subset ...

Strategic interactions between competitive entities are generally considered from the perspective of complete revelations of benefits achieved from those interactions, in the form of public payoff functions in the announced games. In this work, we propose a formal framework for a competitive ecosystem where each player is permitted to deviate from publicly optimal strategies under certain priva...

Reported experimental and computational results confirm that both the flow features and heat-transfer rates inside a condenser depend on the specification of inlet, wall, and exit conditions. The results show that the commonly occurring condensing flows’ special sensitivity to changes in exit conditions (i.e., changes in exit pressure) arises from the ease with which these changes alter the vap...
