Valvetrain is one of the major sources of noise and vibration in IC engines. The importance of cam surface quality parameters is highlighted in the valve train mechanisms with direct sliding contact between cam and tappet. In this paper, the influence of surface quality parameters on high frequency noise producing is investigated. The roughness and waviness of some intake and exhaust camshafts ...

In order to expand the possibilities of designing technological processes for finishing shut-off valve parts, in some cases it is advisable use varying various influences a single combined method with imposition an electromagnetic field. A reasonable combination physical allows us provide necessary design parameters, sufficient productivity and increase resource finished products.

As the key control component of water hydraulic systems, proportional valve has a significant influence on performance systems. Due to poor viscosity and lubricity water, spool resistance is large non-linear. In this study, novel fast-response presented. The actuator adopts voice coil motor (VCM), which advantages fast response, high precision small volume. order realize valve, lever amplifier ...

We define a notion of diagnosability for hybrid automata, which generalizes the notion of observability. We propose a procedure to check diagnosability on a given hybrid automaton, and show that the complexity of the verification problem is in PTIME. We apply our procedure to an electromagnetic valve system for camless engines. This paper, because of space limitations, only summarizes the obtai...

Conventional internal combustion engines use mechanical camshafts to command the opening and closing phases of the intake and exhaust valves. The lift valve profile is designed in order to reach a good compromise among various requirements of the engine operating conditions. In principle, optimality in every engine condition can be attained by camless valvetrains. In this context, electromagnet...

The advantages of Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) in the aspects of improved engine performance, fuel economy and reduced emissions are well known in the industry. However, the design and optimization of such systems is complex and costly. The design process of VVA mechanisms can be greatly accelerated through the use of sophisticated simulation tools. Predictive numerical analysis of systems to...

In this paper a new electromagnetic nondestructive system for inspection of train hollow axle is presented. The system allows to observe changes of vector AC fields in order to enhance the probability of proper classification. The performance of the system is verified using hollow axle sample with artificial notches of different depths. The experimental results are presented and discussed. Keyw...

The applicability of Artificial Neural Networks to breast cancer detection is explored in this work. A simplified model of the breast containing a tumor is used and the scattered electromagnetic waves are used to train and test a series of networks with noise introduced to into the input signal. Two methods of interpreting the output signal of the network are explored and the results presented.
