CeO2-based catalysts incorporated with cooperative dopants show excellent potential for promoting H2 production via the water-splitting reaction (WSR) in solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs). Here, we report that CeO2 co-doped Gd + Sb, Pr and Bi Sb trivalent cations have superior performance WSR rate 2–5 orders of magnitude larger than individual including Ga, Lu, Gd, Sm, Pr, Bi, La, owing to...
Sodium potassium niobate piezoceramics are considered as lead-free piezoelectric due to their good properties. In this study, the effect of titanium dioxide and molybdenum oxide as dopant on the densification behavior, piezoelectric and dielectric properties of lithium doped sodium potassium niobate ((K0.5Na0.5)0.94Li0.06NbO3, KNNL) was investigated. For this purpose, (K0.5Na0.5)0.94Li0.06Nb0.9...
The enhanced photocatalytic performance of doped graphene(GR)/semiconductor nanocomposites have recently been widely observed, but an understanding of the underlying mechanisms behind it is still out of reach. As a model system to study the effect of dopants, we investigate the electronic structures and optical properites of doped GR/Ag 3 PO 4 nanocomposites using the first-principles calculati...
Nonreducible oxides are characterized by large band gaps and are therefore unable to exchange electrons or to form bonds with surface species, explaining their chemical inertness. The insertion of aliovalent dopants alters this situation, as new electronic states become available in the gap that may be involved in charge-transfer processes. Consequently, the adsorption and reactivity pattern of...
During recent years, many advanced oxidation techniques have been investigated for water and wastewater treatment to overcome the shortage of clean water. This review summarizes the background and principles of photocatalysis applied as an advanced oxidation technology. In particular, this paper focuses on modification of photocatalysts with various dopants as well as the novel photocatalytic r...
A novel strategy to synthesize nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S)-doped graphene (G) is developed through sulfate-reducing bacteria treating graphene oxide (GO). The N, S-doped G demonstrates significantly improved electrocatalytic properties and electrochemical sensing performances in comparison with single-doped graphene due to the synergistic effects of dual dopants on the properties of graphene.
