Multiple pectoralis major tendon tears have been reported in the literature; however, isolated rupture of the pectoralis minor tendon is rare and has been reported 3 times (4 patients). This article describes a case of an isolated pectoralis minor tendon tear in a male high school football player after a traumatic injury. The patient was injured while making a tackle and leading with his arm and...
Osteoid osteoma (OO) is the most common benign osteogenic bone tumor that predominantly affects young adults. OO is commonly localized in long bones, and therefore, it is rarely considered in differential diagnosis of chronic shoulder pain. We report a case of a 22-year-old male athlete, without history of previous trauma, who presented to our Department with chronic shoulder pain, which escala...
The successful treatment of shoulder instability, particularly in the setting glenoid bone loss, is a challenging problem. There are several surgical options that available for patients who have this clinical entity. Of these options, block procedures become increasing common over past years, both primary and revision surgery, with aim to restore native anatomy. arthroscopic Eden–Hybinette proc...
BACKGROUND The posterior and anterior circumflex humeral artery (PCHA and ACHA) are crucial for the blood supply of humeral head. We aimed to identify simple landmarks for guiding the quick access to PCHA and ACHA, which might help to protect the arteries during the surgical management of proximal humeral fractures. METHODS Twenty fresh cadavers were dissected to measure the distances from th...
The superior suspensory complex of the shoulder (SSCS) is a ring shaped structure composed of bones and soft tissues that play a fundamental role in the stability of the shoulder joint. Isolated injuries of the SSCS are relatively common, but injuries that affect 3 components are extremely unusual. We present a triple injury of the SSCS in a 26 year old patient with a Neer type ii clavicular fr...
Subcoracoid impingement and stenosis have been described related to anterior shoulder pain and subscapularis tendon tears, but the pathogenesis and related treatment of this condition has still not been explained properly. Variability of coracoid morphology has been described and both traumatic and iatrogenic factors can modify it. Some authors referred this to a primary narrow coracohumeral di...
For treatment of acute acromioclavicular dislocation we chose operative treatment in which we fixed clavicule to coracoid with a screw. With regard to the clinical results, out of 6 patients who had gone under operation, only one had calcification at coracoclavicular ligament without limitation of motion. There were no serious postoperative complication.
BACKGROUND The Latarjet procedure is commonly performed using either the classic or the congruent-arc technique. Each technique has potential clinical advantages and disadvantages. However, data on the anatomic and biomechanical effects, benefits, and limitations of each technique are limited. Hypothesis/Purpose: To compare the anatomy and biomechanical fixation strength (failure load) between ...
