evaluation of autogenous fibrinogen extracted from horse blood in fibrin glue and it's effects on horse's fibroblast and keratinocyte cells were preformed. fibrinogen has been obtained by glycine precipitation technique from horse's blood. fibroblast cells were separated by explant culture method from neck skin and keratinocytes were separated by enzyme digestion from lib samples...
A new species of the caddisfly genus Synagapetus from central Spain is described and figured: Synagapetus vettonicus sp. n. Males of the new species are close to S. placidus and S. marlierorum, but the new species is well characterized by a combination of genitalic characteristics, especially those concerning the shape of the superior and inferior appendages. Additionally we provide a taxonomic...
E. Catalan stated in 1874 that the numbers (2m)! (2n)!/m! n! (m+n)! are integers. When m = 0 these numbers are the middle binomial coefficients ( 2n n ) . When m = 1 they are twice the Catalan numbers. In this paper, we give a combinatorial interpretation for these numbers when m = 2.
Between 2006 and 2008, an outbreak of Infectious Keratoconjunctivitis (IKC) affected Pyrenean chamois Rupicapra p. pyrenaica, an endemic subspecies of mountain ungulate that lives in the Pyrenees. The study focused on 14 mountain massifs (180,000 ha) where the species' population is stable. Cases of IKC were detected in ten of the massifs and, in five of them, mortality was substantial. The out...
In this paper we describe SemEval-2007 task number 9 (Multilevel Semantic Annotation of Catalan and Spanish). In this task, we aim at evaluating and comparing automatic systems for the annotation of several semantic linguistic levels for Catalan and Spanish. Three semantic levels are considered: noun sense disambiguation, named entity recognition, and semantic role labeling.
Hikita polynomials are the combinatorial side of the rational shuffle theorem. Building upon a recent formula for (m, 3)-Catalan polynomials, we prove a formula for (m, 3)-Hikita polynomials in terms of Catalan polynomials. This formula shows a surprising relation among coefficients of Hikita polynomials and implies deeper recursive relations and proves the q, t-symmetry of (m, 3)-Hikita polyno...
We study novel arithmetic algorithms on a canonical number representation based on the Catalan family of combinatorial objects. For numbers corresponding to Catalan objects of low structural complexity our algorithms provide super-exponential gains while their average case complexity is within constant factors of their traditional counterparts.
