Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) involve the genitourinary system in less than 1% of cases, with primary renal carcinoids comprising only 19% of reported genitourinary NETs (56 cases worldwide). We report a case of a renal NET presenting as a large renal mass with extensive local invasion, requiring definitive radical en bloc resection via a thoracoabdominal approach.

Introduction: A novel electrosurgical generator unit (ESU), ConMed Beamer, was recently introduced to facilitate endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) by employing Automatic Cutting Effect (ACE) technology. Its use in endoscopy has yet be investigated. Background and study aims: The aim of this evaluate the feasibility safety performing ESD per-oral myotomy (POEM) using settings generated with...

BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIMS Local recurrence has been observed after endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) of nonpedunculated colorectal lesions. The indications for follow-up colonoscopy and the optimal time interval are currently unclear. The aims of this systematic review were to assess the frequency of local recurrence after EMR, to identify risk factors for recurrence, and to provide follow-up ...

OBJECTIVES Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) has advantages over conventional endoscopic mucosa resection. The number of elderly patients (more than 75 years old) with early gastric cancer (EGC) has been steadily increasing. We sought to assess clinical outcomes of ESD for EGC in elderly. METHODS ESD was performed for patients with EGC, who fulfilled the criteria for ESD: mucosal cancer ...
