We study spin-flip and spin-wave excitations for arbitrarily polarized quantum Hall states by employing a fermionic Chern-Simons gauge theory in the low Zeeman energy limit. We show that the spin-flip correlation functions do not get renormalized by the fluctuations of Chern-Simons gauge field. As a consequence, the excitations for a given integer quantum Hall state are identical to fractional ...

in this paper, the concept of {sl local base with  stratifiedstructure} in $i$-topological vector spaces is introduced. weprove that every $i$-topological vector space has a balanced localbase with stratified structure. furthermore, a newcharacterization of $i$-topological vector spaces by means of thelocal base with stratified structure is given.

In this present study aims to evaluate the performance of base isolation device under different intensity blast induced ground excitations for an elevated water tank staging. mainly focused improve isolator and minimize damage structure. To know two models are considered one is fixed model another supported with both non-linear time history analysis carried out help SAP 2000 software subjected ...

The orbital excitations of a series of transition-metal compounds are studied by means of optical spectroscopy. Our aim was to identify signatures of collective orbital excitations by comparison with experimental and theoretical results for predominantly local crystal-field excitations. To this end, we have studied TiOCl, RTiO3 (R=La, Sm, Y), LaMnO3, Y2BaNiO5, CaCu2O3, and K4Cu4OCl10, ranging f...

We explore the N-H stretching vibrations of adenosine-thymidine base pairs in chloroform solution with linear and nonlinear infrared spectroscopy. Based on estimates from NMR measurements and ab initio calculations, we conclude that adenosine and thymidine form hydrogen bonded base pairs in Watson-Crick, reverse Watson-Crick, Hoogsteen, and reverse Hoogsteen configurations with similar probabil...

We identify exact excitation content of the intermediate states for the oneparticle Green’s functions, spin-spin and (charge) density-density correlation functions of the periodic one-dimensional t-J model with inverse square exchange. The excitations consist of neutral S = 1/2 spinons and spinless (charge −e) holons with semionic fractional statistics, and bosonic (charge +2e) “anti-holons” wh...

In the CERN PS Booster (PSB), longitudinal Beam Transfer Function (BTF) measurements are used to determine the energy spectrum of the linac beam injected and coasting on an extended flat bottom of the magnet cycle. The short duration (about 10 ms) of the measurement and coherent signals from density structure of the injected beam yielded strongly fluctuating results, and the system fell into di...

We investigate the sequence-dependent behaviour of localised excitations in a toy, nonlinear model of DNA base-pair opening originally proposed by Salerno. Specifically we ask whether "breather" solitons could play a role in the facilitated location of promoters by RNA polymerase (RNAP). In an effective potential formalism, we find excellent correlation between potential minima and Escherichia ...

We investigate quantum transport characteristics of a ladder model, which effectively mimics the topology of a double-stranded DNA molecule. We consider the interaction of tunneling charges with a selected internal vibrational degree of freedom and discuss its influence on the structure of the current-voltage characteristics. Further, molecule-electrode contact effects are shown to dramatically...

We give a concise axiomatic introduction into the fundamental structure of classical electrodynamics: It is based on electric charge conservation, the Lorentz force, magnetic flux conservation, and the existence of local and linear constitutive relations. The inhomogeneous Maxwell equations, expressed in terms of D and Hi , turn out to be a consequence of electric charge conservation, whereas t...
