McKusick-Kaufman syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive disease diagnosed by polydactyly, hydrometrocolpos, and congenital heart disease. We present an unusual laparotomy confirmed urogenital MRI finding (atretic vaginal pouch) in a 3-month-old girl with McKusick-Kaufman syndrome. Up to our knowledge, this MR finding has not been reported in the literature yet.
PURPOSE We describe imaging features that are clues to the diagnosis of atretic cephaloceles and discuss clinical findings and a possible mechanism by which these lesions develop. METHODS Eight children (five girls and three boys) ranging in age from 1 day to 3 years 4 months with midline subscalp lesions underwent radiologic examination with CT or MR imaging. In all cases, the lesions were s...
progestagens have been used in order to control follide wave dynamics in camelids, however, the results are contra versial.the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of single norgestomet implant on ovarian follicle development in bactrian camel. bactrian camels (n=8; 6-14 years old) were assigned randomly to two groups. norgestomet treated group (n=4) received one implant of norge...
objectives: it was aimed to investigate the effects of different doses of follicle stimulating hormone (fsh) and activin a on the growth and maturation of preantral mouse follicles during the in vitro culture. methods: preantral follicles (90-100 µm in diameter) were harvested from 6-8 week-old syrian mice and cultured in tcm199 culture medium for 6 days to see the effect of fsh and activin a. ...
This review will focus on the main findings of our experiments that used B-mode and color-Doppler ultrasonography during the preovulatory period to study the morphological and blood flow/perfusion changes of the preovulatory follicle in mares. The topics to be addressed herein will be: ultrasonographic characteristics of the preovulatory follicle; B-mode echotextural changes of the follicle wal...

Follicle growth and associated changes in circulating hormone concentrations were evaluated after follicle ablation in mares (n = 13) during four 13 day periods beginning at means of -98.5, -61.4, -26.0 and 10 days from the first ovulation and corresponding to mid-anovulatory, early-transitional, late-transitional and ovulatory periods, respectively. During each period, all follicles > 5 mm in ...
