Face recognition is one of the most challenging problems in the domain of image processing and machine vision. The face recognition system is critical when individuals have very similar biometric signature such as identical twins. In this paper, new efficient facial-based identical twins recognition is proposed according to geometric moment. The utilized geometric moment is Zernike Moment (ZM) ...

An improved Zernike moment using as a region-based shape descriptor is presented. The improved Zernike moment not only has rotation invariance, but also has scale invariance that the unimproved Zernike moment does not have. The experimental results show that the improved Zernike moment has better invariant properties than unimproved Zernike moment using as region-based shape descriptor.

the goal of multi-frame super resolution (sr) is to fuse multiple low resolution (lr) images to produce one high resolution (hr) image. the major challenge of classic sr approaches is accurate motion estimation between the frames. to handle this challenge, fuzzy motion estimation method has been proposed that replaces value of each pixel using the weighted averaging all its neighboring pixels i...

In this paper, the authors present a multimodal biometric system using face and fingerprint features with the incorporation of Zernike Moment (ZM) and Radial Basis Function (RBF) Neural Network for personal authentication. It has been proven that face authentication is fast but not reliable while fingerprint authentication is reliable but inefficient in database retrieval. With regard to this f...

Multimodal biometric systems have proven more efficient in personal verification or identification than single biometric ones, so it is also a focus of this paper. Particularly, in the paper, the authors present a multimodal biometric system in which features from face and fingerprint images are extracted using Zernike Moment (ZM), the personal authentication is done using Relevance Vector Mach...

In this paper, the authors present a novel personal verification system based on the likelihood ratio test for fusion of match scores from multiple biometric matchers (face, fingerprint, hand shape, and palm print). In the proposed system, multimodal features are extracted by Zernike Moment (ZM). After matching, the match scores from multiple biometric matchers are fused based on the likelihood...

Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system using Region based shape descriptors is proposed in my work. Further, the image classification efficiency is improved by employing Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier. In this paper we concentrate on region based shape descriptors. In Region based shape descriptors include Hu moments, Zernike Moments, and exact Legendre Moment. In CBIR system the ...

Zernike moments are widely used in several pattern recognition applications, as invariant descriptors of the image shape. Zernike moments have proved to be superior than other moment functions in terms of their feature representation capabilities. The major drawback with Zernike moments is the computational complexity. This paper presents a fast algorithm for the computation of Zernike moments ...

Zernike Moments (ZMs) are used in many image processing applications, due to their resistance against various signal processing and geometric attacks. Digital image watermarking is one of those application areas, where ZMs are widely used to insert and extract the watermark bits for digital media authentication. In all the existing ZM based watermarking techniques, magnitude of moments is used ...
