It develops in a fetus in the first trimester of pregnancy due to unknown reasons, but it is likely to have a genetic etiology. The prognosis of VGA is usually poor, particularly in newborns with heart failure due to high-flow intracerebral shunt. Surgery and endovascular em...

Vein of Galen aneurysm is a rare congenital anomaly, originated from a defect in fusion of internal cerebral veins. Due to low resistance, it produces high debit cardiac insufficiency. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a dilatation of the vein of galen malformation. Cerebral angiography revealed multiple saccular aneurysms of the middle meningeal artery and fistulous type of galen...

Located under the cerebral hemispheres and draining the anterior and central regions of the brain into the sinus of the posterior cerebral fossa, the vein of Galen aneurysmal malformation is considered to be a rare cause of hydrocephaly. The presence of this condition in the neonatal period typically includes intractable heart failure and a poor prognosis. We report a case of aneurysm of the ve...
