Among numerous NP-hard problems, the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) has been one of the most explored, yet unknown one. Even a minor modification changes the problem’s status, calling for a different solution. The Generalized Traveling Salesman Problem (GTSP)expands the TSP to a much more complicated form, replacing single nodes with a group or cluster of nodes, where the objective is to fi...

the traveling salesman problem (tsp) is the problem of finding the shortest tour through all the nodes that a salesman has to visit. the tsp is probably the most famous and extensively studied problem in the field of combinatorial optimization. because this problem is an np-hard problem, practical large-scale instances cannot be solved by exact algorithms within acceptable computational times. ...

The multiple traveling salesman problem (MTSP) is a generalization of the famous traveling salesman problem (TSP), where more than one salesman is used in the solution. Although the MTSP is a typical kind of computationally complex combinatorial optimization problem, it can be extended to a wide variety of routing problems. This paper presents an efficient and evolutionary optimization algorith...

The k-traveling salesman problem, or k-TSP is: given a graph with edge weights and an integer k, find a simple cycle of minimum weight visiting exactly k nodes. To obtain lower bounds for the traveling salesman problem the 2-matching relaxation and the 1-tree relaxation can be used. We generalize these two relaxations for the k-TSP.

Derived from the well-known Traveling Salesman problem (TSP), the multiple-Traveling Salesman problem (multiple-TSP) with single depot is a straightforward generalization: several salesmen located in a given city (the depot) need to visit a set of interconnected cities, such that each city is visited exactly once (by a single salesman) while the total cost of their tours is minimized. Designed ...

A CAD-guided vision sensor planning system is developed in our lab. To improve the efficiency of the inspection system, the path planning problem is rendered as a Traveling Salesman Problem(TSP). A new approach is developed to solve the TSP into its suboptimality quickly. First, viewpoints are clustered into several groups. Second, clustered Traveling Salesman Problem is solved by favoring the ...

In the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP), a salesman wants to visit set of cities and return home. There is cost $$c_{ij}$$ traveling from city i j, which same in either direction for Symmetric TSP. The objective each exactly once, minimizing total travel costs. Graphical TSP, may be visited more than necessary on sparse graph. We present new integer programming formulation TSP requiring only tw...

We introduce a new combinatorial optimization problem, which is a generalization of the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) and which we call Traveling Salesman Problem of Second Order (2-TSP). It is motivated by an application in bioinformatics, especially the Permuted Variable Length Markov model. We propose seven elementary heuristics and two exact algorithms for the 2-TSP, some of which are ge...

It is well known that many arc routing problems can be transformed into the Equality Generalized Traveling Salesman Problem (E-GTSP), which in turn can be transformed into a standard Asymmetric Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). This opens up the possibility of solving arc routing problems using existing solvers for TSP. This paper evaluates the performance of the state-of-the art TSP solver Lin...
