Intercalation doping has been theoretically and experimentally studied on chemical vapor deposition synthesized few-layer graphene. Density functional theory calculations identified FeCl3 as a good dopant to reduce the sheet resistance of few-layer graphene. A simple vapor transfer method is employed to dope graphene. The successful doping is confirmed by the Raman spectra as well as the electr...

Here we report a three-step growth method for high-quality mono-layer, bi-layer and tri-layer graphene with coverage ~90% at atmospheric pressure. The growth temperature and gas flow rate have been found to be the key factors. This method would be of great importance for the large scale production of graphene with defined thickness.

We have experimentally studied the optical refractive index of few-layer graphene through reflection spectroscopy at visible wavelengths. A laser scanning microscope (LSM) with a coherent supercontinuum laser source measured the reflectivity of an exfoliated graphene flake on a Si/SiO2 substrate, containing monolayer, bilayer and trilayer areas, as the wavelength of the laser was varied from 54...

We report a systematic investigation of the colour contrast (CC) of graphene (one, two and three layers) on 50, 72 and 80 nm thick Al(2)O(3)/Si(100) and 100 and 300 nm thick SiO(2)/Si(100). The CC is determined by the analysis of optical microscopy images taken under white light illumination. A corresponding assignment of graphene in the single-layer, double-layer and trilayer phases is made us...

the quantum transport computations have been carried on four different width of zigzag graphene using a nonequilibrium green’s function method combined with density functional theory. the computed properties are included transmittance spectrum, electrical current and quantum conductance at the 0.3v as bias voltage.  the considered systems were composed from one-layer graphene sheets differing w...

Patterned graphene shows substantial potential for applications in future molecular-scale integrated electronics. Environmental effects are a critical issue in a single-layer material where every atom is on the surface. Especially intriguing is the variety of rich chemical interactions shown by molecular oxygen with aromatic molecules. We find that O 2 etching kinetics vary strongly with the nu...

In this paper, a compact plasmonic metamaterial absorber for terahertz frequencies is proposed and simulated. The absorber is based on metamaterial graphene structures, and benefits from dynamically controllable properties of graphene. Through patterning graphene layers, plasmonic resonances are tailored to provide a dual band as well as an improved bandwidth absorption. Unit cell of the design...

This paper presents the thermal vibration analysis of double-layer graphene sheet embedded in polymer elastic medium, using the plate theory and nonlocal continuum mechanics for small scale effects. The graphene is modeled based on continuum plate theory and the axial stress caused by the thermal effects is also considered. Nonlocal governing equations of motion for this double-layer graphene s...

the nonlocal nonlinear buckling of a double layer graphene sheet (dlgs) covered by zinc oxide (zno) piezoelectric layers is investigated in this study. the surrounding circumstances of the system are considered as a pasternak foundation including spring constants and a shear layer. graphene sheets are subjected to longitudinal magnetic field and biaxial forces. on the other hand, the zno piezoe...
