This paper describes collaborative work on developing Indonesian WordNet in the AsianWordNet (AWN). We will describe the method to develop for collaborative editing to review and complete the translation of synset. This paper aims to create linkage among Asian languages by adopting the concept of semantic relations and synset expressed in WordNet.
A word in natural language can be polysemous, having multiple meanings, as well as synonymous, meaning the same thing as other words. Word sense induction attempts to find the senses of polysemous words. Synonymy detection attempts to find when two words are interchangeable. We combine these tasks, first inducing word senses and then detecting similar senses to form word-sense synonym sets (syn...
Wordnet is a standard semantic resource for several Natural Language Processing tasks and it is available for an increasing number of languages. The Croatian Wordnet (CroWN) was a relatively small resource with 10.026 synsets and 31.367 synset-variant pairs covering only 45.91% of the so-called Core WordNet. Comparing these figures with the size of the Princeton WordNet for English version 3.0,...
It has recently been proposed that term senses can be automatically ranked by how strongly they possess a given opinion-related property, by applying PageRank, the well known random-walk algorithm lying at the basis of the Google search engine, to a graph in which nodes are represented by eXtended WordNet synsets and links are represented by the binary relation si I sk (“the gloss of synset si ...
The synset induction task is to automatically cluster semantically identical instances, which are often represented by texts and images. Previous works mainly consider textual parts, while ignoring the visual counterparts. However, how effectively employ information enhance semantic representation for challenging. In this paper, we propose a Visually Enhanced NeUral Encoder (i.e., VENUE) learn ...
The paper reports on a series of experiments conducted in order to test the feasibility of automatically generating synsets for Slovene wordnet. The resources used were the multilingual parallel corpus of George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four and wordnets for several languages. First, the corpus was word-aligned to obtain multilingual lexicons and then these lexicons were compared to the wordnet...
Concept location is a common task in program comprehension techniques, essential in many approaches used for software care and software evolution. An important goal of this process is to discover a mapping between source code and human oriented concepts. Although programs are written in a strict and formal language, natural language terms and sentences like identifiers (variables or functions n...
WordNet [4] is the lexical database for English language. A synset is a WordNet structure for storing senses of the words. Synset contains a set of synonym words and their brief description called gloss. For example, well, wellspring and fountainhead have the same meaning according to WordNet, so these three words are grouped in to one synset which is explained by a gloss "an abundant source". ...
The paper presents an experiment in which synsets for Slovene wordnet were induced automatically from several multilingual resources. Our research is based on the assumption that translations are a plausible source of semantically relevant information. More specifically, we argue that the translational relation on the one hand reduces ambiguity of a source word and on the other conveys semantic...
