• Since mycorrhizal fungi constitute an important component of the soil–plant interface, their responses to changes in nutrient availability may mediate shifts in ecosystem function. We tested the hypothesis that initial soil nutrient availability may determine effects of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) additions on the growth and community of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi. • Extraradical h...

The present paper analyses the community structure of ectomycorrhiza (ECM) and arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM) fungi associated with seven different poplar clone types growing in a patch system on soil from four different former land use types, originating from spruce forest, poplar stand, grassland and cornfield. We determined the extent to which ECM and AM play a role on the studied factors (genot...

The papaya tree is not very exploitable on the international market because of post-harvest decline fruits. In this study, we identified arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) from rhizosphere in two agroecological zones Cameroon (Njombe-Pendja: NP and Yaounde: Y). Morphological studies density, rate root colonization, diversity AMF species were evaluated. Molecular identification was performed by ...

In a study on AMF (Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi) flora of alfalfa rhizosphere in Kohgiluyeh and Boierahmad province (SW Iran), 23 species belonging to nine genera: Acaulospora, Claroideoglomus, Diversispora, Entrophospora, Funneliformis, Gigaspora, Glomus, Septoglomus and Scutellospora, were identified.F. mosseae was the most abundant species. Also this is the first report of A. spinosa from Iran.

Application to the soil of the insecticide dimethoate had no effect on the growth of soybean colonized by the arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungus Glomus mosseae and by the indigenous AM fungus. The application of the recommended concentration of dimethoate decreased the percentage of colonization of soybean by the indigenous AM population, but no significant effect was observed on the colonizati...

Using a dataset comprising 5.8S rDNA sequences from a wide range of fungi, we show that some sequences reported recently from the arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungus Scutellospora castanea most likely originate from Ascomycetes. Other ITS and 5.8S sequences which were previously reported are confirmed as being clearly of mycorrhizal origin and are variable within one isolate of S. castanea. Howe...

During 2001-2002, a total number of 164 soil-root samples were collected from citrus orchards of six provinces, namely, Fars, Gilan, Mazandaran, Kerman, Hormozgan and Sistan va Baloochestan. Soil samples were decanted and centrifuged and spores were collected and examined. Out of 23 identified species, five species were recognized new to Iran mycoflora. New species are as follows: Gomus albidum...

Occurrence and abundance of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the agricultural fields in and around Mysore district was studied. Almost all the sampling sites belong to semi-arid region. Most of the crops growing in this region were sampled. AMF percent colonization and spore density and species richness was assessed. Soil samples exhibit varied physico-chemical parameters which correlates with A...
