We report a facile synthesis of bifunctional Fe3O4-Ag(125)I heterodimers for use as dual-modality imaging agents in magnetic resonance (MR) and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). We introduced (125)I, which is a clinically used radioisotope, as a SPECT reporter, into Fe3O4-Ag heterodimer nanoparticles to provide a new type of bifunctional contrast agent for MRI and SPECT imaging.
BACKGROUND There is now increasing evidence to support the use of indocyanine green (ICG) for sentinel lymph node (SLN) detection in early breast cancer. The primary objective of this feasibility study (ICG-10) was to determine the sensitivity and safety of ICG fluorescence imaging in sentinel lymph node identification when combined with blue dye and radiocolloid. METHODS One hundred women wi...
While radiotherapy (RT) is commonly used in clinics for cancer treatment, the therapeutic efficiency is not satisfactory owing to the existence of the hypoxic tumor microenvironment which seriously affects the efficiency of RT. Herein, we design polyethylene glycol (PEG)-modified reduced nano-graphene oxide-manganese dioxide (rGO-MnO2-PEG) nanocomposites to trigger oxygen generation from H2O2 t...
Gadolinium-159 (159Gd) is a beta emitter with appropriate energy for therapeutic application. However, this radioisotope additionally emits gamma rays, enabling the distribution of 159Gd to be detected by camera after each administration. The current research innovative in investigation as theranostic radioembolization HCC using Monte Carlo (MC) simulation. For investigation, various patient sc...
[18F]KF, considered as a reference standard for positron emission tomography of the skeletal system, was produced by the bombardment of enriched water ([18O]H2O>95%) with high energy protons in NRCAM cyclotron. After the extraction of fluoride from enriched water as KF, and passing it through microbial filter and fine adjustment of acidity and osmolality, it was converted into an injectab...
18F-FDG is the most commonly used radioisotope in PET scanning and is administered intravenously. When patients cannot cannulated, there are limited options available for functional tumour assessment. A fifty year old male presented for investigation of a suspected lung carcinoma identified during investigation of pneumonia. The patient had a severe needle phobia, intellectual dis...
Surface-modified nanospheres can be utilized for targeting drugs and diagnostic agents to the bone and bone marrow while extending their circulation time in the blood stream. The surface modification of poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) nanospheres by radioisotope carrying poly(ethylene oxide)-poly (propylene oxide)-poly (ethylene oxide) triblock copolymers (Poloxamer 407) has been assessed by ...
BACKGROUND: The use of pretargeting technology for cancer imaging and treatment has made significant progress in the last few years. This approach takes advantage of the fact that biotin binds strongly to proteins avidin and streptavidin. Thus, a non-toxic tumor cell specific antibody is conjugated with avidin/streptavidin, and is administered to patients. After the antibody binds to tumor cell...
Minerals and photosynthates are essential for many plant processes, but their imaging in live plants is difficult. We have developed a method for their live imaging in Arabidopsis using a real-time radioisotope imaging system. When each radioisotope,(22)Na,(28)Mg,(32)P-phosphate,(35)S-sulfate,(42)K,(45)Ca,(54)Mn and(137)Cs, was employed as an ion tracer, ion movement from root to shoot over 24 ...
