اعداد کروموزومی 3 گونه از جنس کهور (prosopis) ارائه شده است. این گزارش شامل اعداد کروموزومی دو گونه prosopisfarcta و prosopis cineraria برای اولین بار از ایران با سطح دیپلوئیدی 2n=28 و اولین گزارش از عدد کروموزومیprosopiskoelziana با سطح دیپلوئیدی و تتراپلوئیدی می باشد. کروموزومها از 30 جمعیت از prosopis گسترده در جنوب ایران شمارش شدند.
