Abstract The good of those who are worse off matters more to the overall than better does. But being one’s fellows is not itself bad; nor inequality do differences in well-being matter when lower an absolute sense. Instead, relatively worse-off weighs heavily better-off does, virtue fact that former off. This paper articulates and defends view just described.
