Primary cardiac lymphoma (PCL) has rarely been reported in Chinese populations. PCL mostly occurs in the right atrium. The clinical manifestations may be variable and are attributed to its location, the presence of congestive heart failure, pericardial effusion, arrhythmia, and cardiomegaly. The prognosis is usually poor because it is usually found too late and therefore, clinicians should be a...
INTRODUCTION Cardiac tumors are rare; incidence at autopsy ranges from 0.0017 to 0.03%. In the past, such tumors are often left untreated and frequently diagnosed postmortem. Approximately 75% of primary cardiac tumors are benign and the remaining 25% are malignant. Among them, primary cardiac lymphoma is extremely rare. Only 35 cases have been documented since 1960. This accounts for only 5.6%...
introduction: lymphoma may involve the gastrointestinal tract either primarily or as a manifestation of extensively disseminated systemic disease. stomach being the most frequent site of primary gastroin-testinal lyphoma, followed by the small bowel and colon respectively (1&2&3). for diagnosis of pi-mary small intestinal lymphoma (psil), one most satisfies the criteria specified by dawson and ...
An immunocompetent 29-year-old male presented with an embolic stroke from an unusual primary cardiac lymphoma. The cardiac lesion consisted of a polypoid, left atrial, mural fibrin thrombus with anaplastic tumor cells lining the surface of the clot. Histologic, immunophenotypic, and molecular characterizations were consistent with a diagnosis of CD30+ large B-cell lymphoma with anaplastic cytol...
primary lymphomas of the lung are rare and usual radiographic findings are adenopathy, effusion, multiple lesions, solitary lesion or diffuse lesion. this paper presents a case of primary malignant tumor of the lung with a very rare radiological presentation. a 20-year-old male patient was admitted to our hospital due to fever, chills, productive cough and later development of hemoptysis. weigh...
Background: Primary lymphomas of the heart are very rare, especially primary cardiac extranodal natural killer/T-cell Lymphoma. Primary cardiac natural killer/T-cell lymphoma has diversified symptoms and the diagnosis is difficult. Case presentation: We have reported a 35 year old man with palpitation, fever and increasing dyspnea. Transthoracic echocardiography was done and showed a large piec...
Few cases of primary cardiac lymphoma (PCL) are found in the literature. We report the case of an 85 year-old male who presented with cardiac tamponade and effusive-constrictive pericarditis secondary to primary cardiac lymphoma involving only the pericardium. There have been no prior published cases with these rare scenarios.
