INTRODUCTION Cardiac tumors are rare; incidence at autopsy ranges from 0.0017 to 0.03%. In the past, such tumors are often left untreated and frequently diagnosed postmortem. Approximately 75% of primary cardiac tumors are benign and the remaining 25% are malignant. Among them, primary cardiac lymphoma is extremely rare. Only 35 cases have been documented since 1960. Few cases of primary cardiac lymphoma (PCL) are found in the literature. We report the case of an 85 year-old male who presented with cardiac tamponade and effusive-constrictive pericarditis secondary to primary cardiac lymphoma involving only the pericardium. There have been no prior published cases with these rare scenarios.
