Introduction: 99mTc–Dimercaptosuccinic Acid (DMSA) as evaluation of pediatric genitourinary abnormalities has an important role in pediatric nuclear medicine. The aim of this study was to estimate organs absorbed dose for children injected by 99mTc DMSA using MIRDOSE software and hybrid planar/SPECT method. Methods: After injection of 99mTc-DMSA, ten children with genitourinary abnorma...
introduction: although pet scanning using f-18[fdg] is considered the superior radiotracer for tumnor imaging, gallium-67 is still in use for some malignancies such as lymphoma and hepatoma. one of the strategies to improve the diagnostic accuracy of gallium is to perform spect which is reported to be more sensitive compared to planar imaging. in this study we compared the sensitivity of spect ...
A new technique is developed for displaying disjoint convex polyhedra. The method has the following properties: It is output-sensitive, displays the objects in scanline mode, and it is naturally robust. There is no complex data structure uniting the different polyhedra, so dynamic insertions and deletions are simple. Its robustnes is based on a novel method of comparing depths by representative...
Objective(s): Nuclear medicine technologists in Japan often perform additional single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) with or without computed tomography (CT) after whole-body imaging for bone scintigraphy. In this study, we wanted to identify the bone scanning protocols used in Japan, together with the current clinical practices. Methods:...
Single-scan MRI underlies a wide variety of clinical and research activities, including functional and diffusion studies. Most common among these "ultrafast" MRI approaches is echo-planar imaging. Notwithstanding its proven success, echo-planar imaging still faces a number of limitations, particularly as a result of susceptibility heterogeneities and of chemical shift effects that can become ac...
Diagnostic and therapeutic impact of SPECT/CT in patients with unspecific pain of the hand and wrist
UNLABELLED BACKGROUND Unspecific pain of the hand/wrist is a diagnostic challenge. Radiographs and planar bone scan are useful diagnostic tools in patients with unspecific wrist pain. Both modalities are deficient, either by not presenting metabolic disorders or due to inadequate anatomical resolution. Single photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) claims to fuse b...
In this paper, in our modification of Graham scan for determining the convex hull of a finite planar set, we show a restricted area of the examination of points and its advantage. The actual run times of our scan and Graham scan on the set of random points shows that our modified algorithm runs significantly faster than Graham’s one.
