Herein provided is the full-genome sequence of Pseudomonas fluorescens LBUM636. This strain is a plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium (PGPR) which produces phenazine-1-carboxylic acid, an antibiotic involved in the biocontrol of numerous plant pathogens, including late blight of potato caused by the plant pathogen Phytophthora infestans.

Sphingomonas wittichii DP58 (CCTCC M 2012027), the first reported phenazine-1-carboxylic acid (PCA)-degrading strain, was isolated from pimiento rhizosphere soils. Here we present a 5.6-Mb assembly of its genome. This sequence would contribute to the elucidation of the molecular mechanism of PCA degradation to improve the antifungal's effectiveness or remove superfluous PCA.

Pseudomonas fluorescens LBUM223 is a plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium (PGPR) with biocontrol activity against various plant pathogens. It produces the antimicrobial metabolite phenazine-1-carboxylic acid, which is involved in the biocontrol of Streptomyces scabies, the causal agent of common scab of potato. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of P. fluorescens LBUM223.

Monitoring spatial distribution of metabolites in multicellular structures can enhance understanding of the biochemical processes and regulation involved in cellular community development. Here we report on an electrochemical camera chip capable of simultaneous spatial imaging of multiple redox-active phenazine metabolites produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA14 colony biofilms. The chip featur...

Abstract Symbiosis of Penicillium rolfsii Y-1 is essential for the seed germination Hawaii yellow-eyed grass (Xyris complanata). However, local soil where plants grow naturally often suppresses radicle growth seedlings. This was drastically restored by coinoculation Paraburkholderia phenazinium isolate CK-PC1, which a rhizobacterium X. complanata. It found that CK-PC1 produced phenazine-1-carbo...

Phenazines are redox-active bacterial secondary metabolites that participate in important biological processes such as the generation of toxic reactive oxygen species and the reduction of environmental iron. Their biosynthesis from chorismic acid depends on enzymes encoded by the phz operon, but many details of the pathway remain unclear. It previously was shown that phenazine biosynthesis invo...

Within the scope of this paper, nine π-expanded mono-substituted 5,8,11,14,17-pentakis-(tert-butyl)-hexa-peri-hexabenzocoronenes (HBC) are introduced. 2-Iodo-5,8,11,14,17-pentakis-(tert-butyl)-hexa-peri-hexabenzocoronene served as precursor and was reacted with ethynyltrimethylsilane in a Sonogashira coupling reaction. The acetylene unit is used linker can undergo another reaction combining dif...

Background: Black pod rot disease of cocoa caused by (Phytophthora palmivora Butl.) is one the major diseases on plantations worldwide. Many attempts have been made to prevent or reduce infection pathogens, but they not provided optimum results. This study aims detect antibiotic genes in endophytic bacteria that can suppress black disease. Methods: Eight were isolated from healthy pods and twig...
