Phase retardance elements such as quarter, half and full waveplates are essential in the most of polarization systems. So, they should be determined precisely. Accurate determination phase retardation for these necessary critical due to its effect on optical measurements. In this paper we measure two-dimensional distribution wave plate using four step shifting technique accurate measurements th...

We propose a demodulation algorithm based on the calculus of complex Fourier coefficients; we used dual rotating polarizer-analyzer polarimeter to show feasibility our proposal. Our considers frequency response obtained by system, and its possible calculate total retardation, fast axis orientation ellipticity sample. proposal does not require recovering full Mueller matrix from getting those pa...

In this report, optical scattering coefficient and phase retardation quantitatively estimated from polarization-sensitive OCT (PSOCT) were used for ovarian tissue characterization. A total of 33 ex vivo ovaries (normal: n = 26, malignant: n = 7) obtained from 18 patients were investigated. A specificity of 100% and a sensitivity of 86% were achieved by using estimated scattering coefficient alo...

The behaviour of E.coli are expressed in several conditions, the kinetics of E.coli are expressed by the formation characteristics in the study location, the rate of retardation are not left behind, it is express in the system, because it has a reflection on the formation variation in the study area.. Retardation factor are considered because of it influences from formation characteristic in th...

PURPOSE To quantify and compare phase retardation amplitude and regularity associated with the Henle fiber layer (HFL) between nonexudative AMD patients and age-matched controls using scanning laser polarimetry (SLP) imaging. METHODS A scanning laser polarimeter was used to collect 15 × 15° macular-centered images in 25 patients with nonexudative AMD and 25 age-matched controls. Raw image dat...

We present a GPU accelerated multi-functional spectral domain optical coherence tomography system at 1300 nm. The system is capable of real-time processing and display of every intensity image, comprised of 512 pixels by 2048 A-lines acquired at 20 frames per second. The update rate for all four images with size of 512 pixels by 2048 A-lines simultaneously (intensity, phase retardation, flow an...

This study quantified normal age-related changes to the photoreceptor axons in the central macula using the birefringent properties of the Henle fiber layer. A scanning laser polarimeter was used to acquire 15° × 15° macular images in 120 clinically normal subjects, ranging in age from the third decade to the eighth. Raw image data of the macular cross were used to compute phase retardation map...

Naturally occurring radon in groundwater can be used as an in situ partitioning tracer for locating and quantifying non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) contamination in the subsurface. When combined with the single-well, push-pull test, this methodology has the potential to provide a low-cost alternative to inter-well partitioning tracer tests. During a push-pull test, a known volume of test soluti...

The cyclic liquid crystalline trimer TPB-(c)9(3) was investigated by optical retardation and Fréedericksz techniques within a few tens of millikelvins of the superheating limit of the nearly second-order nematic-isotropic phase transition. Both the optical retardation and the Fréedericksz bend threshold voltage are in good agreement with tricritical behavior for the transition.
