INTRODUCTION Perivascular epithelioid cell tumors are mesenchymal tumors composed of histologically and immunohistochemically distinctive perivascular epithelioid cells. This type of tumor is rare but bladder localization is even rarer. CASE PRESENTATION A case of bone metastatic bladder perivascular epithelioid cell tumor in a 65-year-old Caucasian man treated with surgery and chemotherapy i...

Perivascular epithelioid cell tumors (PEComa) are tumors of perivascular epithelioid cells with immunohistochemical features of smooth muscle and melanocytic tumors. The PEComa of the gastrointestinal tract is rare. The treatment is surgical, although there are data that suggest a good response to rapamycin.

Apolipoprotein E (apoE) plays a role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer disease (AD). It is involved in the receptor-mediated cellular clearance of the amyloid beta-protein (Abeta) and in the perivascular drainage of the extracellular fluid. Microvascular changes are also associated with AD and have been discussed as a possible reason for altered perivascular drainage. To further clarify the role...

Elevated interstitial fluid pressure, a hallmark of solid tumors, can compromise the delivery of therapeutics to tumors. Here we show that blocking vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling by DC101 (a VEGF-receptor-2 antibody) decreases interstitial fluid pressure, not by restoring lymphatic function, but by producing a morphologically and functionally "normalized" vascular network. ...

Objectives To compare the ablation margins and safety of microwave (MWA) perivascular versus non-perivascular liver metastases from colorectal cancer (CRC) to determine risk factors for local tumor progression (LTP) after MWA.Methods Between June 2017 2019, 84 were treated: 39 (<5 mm a vessel >3 mm), 46 non-perivascular. Perivascular treated with either conventional or optimized protocols (maxi...
