We show that any quasi-Gorenstein deformation of a 3-dimensional Buchsbaum local ring with I-invariant 1 admits maximal Cohen-Macaulay module, provided it is quotient Gorenstein ring. Let S be an unramified regular local ring of mixed characteristic p≥3 and Sp the subring obtained by lifting to image Frobenius map on S/pS. R integral closure in a biradical extension degree p2 its quotient field adjoining p-th roots sufficiently general square free elements f,g∈Sp. This paper is a brief survey on various methods to classify maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules over hypersurface rings. The survey focuses on the contributions in this topic of Dorin Popescu together with his collaborators.
