A stable mesoporous blue-emitting MOF NENU-521 was successfully constructed. NENU-521 can serve as a host for encapsulating Alq3 to obtain tunable and efficient white-light emission. The Alq3@NENU-521 composite possesses excellent stability and can be used as a promising white phosphor in WLEDs.

An optically active, hyperbranched poly(fluorenevinylene) derivative was synthesized by polymerization of (-)-2,4,7-tris(bromomethyl)-9-neomenthyl-9-pentylfluorene. A spin-coated film sample of the polymer exhibited efficient circularly polarized light (CPL) emission in the visible range of 400-700 nm on photo excitation even without annealing processes leading to chain ordering.

We report efficient white upconversion luminescence in Yb(3+)-, Er(3+)- and Tm(3+)-doped monophasic and biphasic Y(2)BaZnO(5) phosphors under 977 nm near-infrared excitation and at low excitation power densities (down to ∼25 mW mm(-2)).

Boronate nanoparticles with built-in tetraphenylethylene (TPE) have been prepared. Their emissive color tuning by altering the amount of rhodamine B grafted onto the surface gave white-light emissive nanoparticles. They showed reversible and thermo-responsive emission in the temperature range of 5-65 °C in water, which enabled them to serve as a bright nanothermometer.
