Tryptophan catabolism through IDO activity can cause nonresponsiveness and tolerance acting on T cells. Given the crucial importance of dendritic cells (DCs) in the initiation of a T cell response, surprisingly little is known about the impact of IDO activity and tryptophan deprivation on DCs themselves. In the present study, we show that human DCs differentiated under low-tryptophan conditions...
Immune inhibitory receptors play an important role in organ transplantation, autoimmune diseases and cancers. Immunoglobulin-like transcript (ILT)2 and ILT3 belong to the inhibitory receptors of the ILT family, which have been reported to regulate a broad range of cellular functions involved in the immune response. They contain immunoreceptor tyro...
OBJECTIVE The aim of our study was to explore the immunomodulatory activity of soluble immunoglobulin (Ig)-like transcript (ILT) 3-Fc in pancreatic islet transplantation and to determine its mechanism of action. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS NOD/SCID mice in which diabetes was induced by streptozotocin injection were transplanted with human pancreatic islet cells. Mice in which the transplant r...
Maternal vitamin D intake during pregnancy increases gene expression of ILT3 and ILT4 in cord blood.
BACKGROUND Recent studies indicate that prenatal vitamin D intake may protect against the development of atopic diseases in young children. Vitamin D has been shown to induce tolerogenic antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells. Whether the allergy-protective potential of prenatal vitamin D is mediated through such mechanisms is, however, unknown. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the association...
Background Immunoglobulin-like transcript 3 (ILT3), an immune-inhibitory receptor expressed on myeloid cells, is highly in acute leukemia (AML) with monocytic differentiation (M4 and M5 subtypes) clinically negatively correlated overall survival. We examined the effects of a selective potent chimeric anti-ILT3 mAb (c52B8) tumor cell survival/growth human immune modulation AML PBMC lines pre-cli...
We have investigated the mechanism underlying the immunoregulatory function of membrane Ig-like transcript 3 (ILT3) and soluble ILT3Fc. microRNA (miRNA) expression profile identified genes that were downregulated in ILT3-induced human CD8(+) T suppressor cells (Ts) while upregulated in T cells primed in the absence of ILT3. We found that miR-21, miR-30b, and miR-155 target the 3'-untranslated r...
This is the report for the CNGL ILT3 team entry to the HOO shared task. A Naive-Bayes-based classifier was used in the task which involved error detection and correction in ESL exam scripts. Our system placed 11th out of 14 teams for the detection and recognition tasks and 11th out of 13 teams for the correction task on the based on f-score for both preposition and determiner errors.
background: mesenchymal stem cells (mscs) possess a wide range of immunomodulatory functions mostly in immune cells including dendritic cells (dcs). dcs are the key cells in the immune response and play an important role in initiating cell-mediated immunity. objective: to evaluate the immunomodulatory effects of mscs supernatant on maturation and function of dcs. methods: bone marrow derived mi...
