In this paper, a fast method for displaying a digital, real and off-axis Fresnel hologram on a lower resolution device is reported. Preserving the original resolution of the hologram upon display is one of the important attributes of the proposed method. Our method can be divided into 3 stages. First, a digital hologram representing a given three dimensional (3D) object is down-sampled based on...

The studies that have been carried out so far, the reconstruction process of the phase hologram can be realized by a single phase hologram. In this study, on the basis of a single phase hologram, this process will be carried out with the phase information which is obtained from a single hologram. To reconstruct the test object image, two different methods will be used: (1) the image will be rec...

The spherical beam volume hologram, recorded by a plane wave and a spherical beam, is investigated for spectroscopic applications in detail. It is shown that both the diffracted and the transmitted beam can be used for spectroscopy when the hologram is read with a collimated beam. A new method is introduced and used for analysis of the spherical beam volume hologram that can be extended for ana...

Recent developments in a new method of holographic computer-aided imaging are reviewed. The proposed hologram is computed from angular viewpoints of the observed three-dimensional scene. The recorded data are processed to yield a two-dimensional computer-generated hologram. When this hologram is illuminated properly, a threedimensional image of the scene is reconstructed.

An example of double exposure holographic interferometry. A hologram of the c-c1amp is exposed. The light source is then shuttered and the clamp tightened. A hologram of the strained c-clamp is exposed onto the same recording material. After processing, illumination of the doubly exposed hologram results in the reconstruction of two wavefronts----one corresponding to each amount of strain on th...

Holographic interferometry with a phase-modulated reference beam is applied to an acoustic holography. A very thin, flexible, optically reflective membrane, called a pellicle, is used in the liquid as an acousto-optic interface. The method involves three processes: the motion of a pellicle caused by an ultrasonic wave is recorded as an optical hologram using holographic interferometry; the opti...

We have investigated the image type full-color computer-generated hologram that has full parallax and can be reconstructed with three color LEDs. The object of the hologram is processed from 3D computer graphics polygon data and has shaded surface with hidden surface removal. The optical reconstructed image from the printed hologram is evaluated. © 2011 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: 09...

We describe various techniques to synthesize three types of computer-generated hologram (CGH): the Fresnel-Fourier CGH, the Fresnel CGH, and the image CGH. These holograms are synthesized by fusing multiple perspective views of a computer-generated scene. An initial hologram is generated in the computer as a Fourier hologram. Then it can be converted to either a Fresnel or an image hologram by ...

In this paper, we study the possibility to use an amplitude hologram as a reflection-type collimating element to produce a plane wave in the compact antenna test range (CATR). So far, we have used holograms as transmissiontype elements only. The hologram studied here has a diameter of 600 mm and it operates at the frequency of 310 GHz. It is a computer-generated slot pattern etched on a thin me...

Adaptive optics (AO) using digital holography (DH) is more effective in terms of complexity and cost than other AO techniques. However, use of coherent illumination is problematic in applying DHAO for retinal imaging because of speckle noise. Self-interference incoherent digital holography (SIDH) is a technique to record holographic information from the object illuminated by incoherent light. B...
