We study singly-generated wavelet systems on R that are naturally associated with rank-one wavelet systems on the Heisenberg group N . We prove a necessary condition on the generator in order that any such system be a Parseval frame. Given a suitable subset I of the dual of N , we give an explicit construction for Parseval frame wavelets that are associated with I . We say that g ∈ L(I×R) is Ga...

Abstract. A Weyl-Heisenberg frame for L(R) is a frame consisting of translates and modulates of a fixed function in L(R), i.e. (EmbTnag)m,n∈Z , with a, b > 0, and g ∈ L(R). In this paper we will give necessary and sufficient conditions for this family to form a tight WH-frame. This allows us to write down explicitly all functions g so that (EmbTnag) is an orthonormal basis for L (R). These resu...

In 1990, Daubechies proved a fundamental identity for WeylHeisenberg systems which is now called the Weyl-Heisenberg Frame Identity. WH-Frame Identity: If g ∈ W (L∞, L), then for all continuous, compactly supported functions f we have: ∑ m,n | < f, EmbTnag > | = 1 b ∑

Weyl-Heisenberg frames are the tool for short-time Fourier analysis. These are generated from a prototype window function using translation on a rectangular grid in the time-frequency plane. Particularly appealing Weyl-Heisenberg frames are those which are tight as they allow for signal representations analogous to orthonormal expansions and have good numerical stability properties. Designing t...

We derive frame estimates for vector-valued Gabor systems with window functions belonging to Schwartz space. The main result provides frame bound estimates for windows composed of Hermite functions. The proof is based on a recently established sampling theorem for the simply connected Heisenberg group, which is translated to a family of frame estimates via a direct integral decomposition.

Two standard tools for signal analysis are the short{time Fourier transform and the continuous wavelet transform. These tools arise as matrix coeecients of square integrable representations of the Heisenberg and aane groups respectively, and discrete frame decompositions of L 2 arise from approximations of corresponding reproducing formulae. Here we study two groups, the so-called aane Weyl-Hei...
